there's a guy by me, Cory on burr and 119th st (roughly) puts on a show every year that tops cedar lake or lake county, 45-60 minutes non stop, he hires a pyrotechnic team and spends upwards of $100k

My mom used to go to this guy named Eric to get her hair done. One year he was going on and on about how much fun he and his boyfriend had with their fireworks on the 4th. He said he was afraid at first that they had spent too much, but he said it was so worth it. I asked how much they spent on fireworks, and he said $8,000.

Way back when I use to throw Independence day parties I'd take up a collection. It wouldn't be unheard of to gather $6-8k to put towards a show.

These days no parties and I keep it around $600

Keep an eye out for coupons. My dad got one in the mail and I stocked up on around $1,400 worth of fireworks for less than $500. To be fair I'm not shooting all that up this year. I'll have it last two or three years. One of the repeaters has over 430 shots.

At least you can buy and use better fireworks in Indiana. Any fireworks worth lighting are illegal in Minnesota.

There was a time when it was legal to sell them here, but not use them.

What's a brick of firecrackers go for these days? I remember when it was a special occasion to light a whole brick off. In my neighborhood, they light em off like candy once the boomin gets going.

Back in the day I used to blow up all sorts of fireworks. Now I just sit back in the lawn chair sipping a beer watching everyone else and the local fireworks display.

Tornado sirens going off in CP at 8 am. I checked the weather, and surprise, no tornado warning. If the sirens are going to go off every time there is a thunderstorm, what's the point? People are going to ignore them more than they already do.
