Now it looks like I have to go shooting on Tue, Wed, or Thur.

Gotta make sure the gun works.
And see how punishing the .357 is.

Maybe Snapdragon, or someone with an LCR, wants to go shooting, so we can make a comparison.

Snapdragon, you are a bad influence.
Here I am, an innocent young impressionable guy, minding my own business, reading about your revolvers.

So, I go to the store and look at some LCRs, but, they only had .38s, and I didn't feel like driving around (and I might change my mind).

    Instead, I bought.....
    20140111_155742_zps0112a850.jpg

    S&W Model 60, with a 3 inch barrel. (.357).

The good news is, my family is complete.
    20140111_155806_zps0e2b5b18.jpg

The bad news, I have to sell blood to pay my bills this month.

Sweet! Are you sure you don't want to hold out for an LCR? It's much more carry-friendly.

Edited to add: Looked at it again, and I don't know if I could give the 60 up if I were you.

I might need a breather for a couple of weeks. I blew through about $50 worth of ammo and range fees yesterday.

I work Mon-Thurs and Saturday afternoons. Friday mornings are best for me.

It's about the same size as the LCR, but I have a 3 inch barrel.
Normally, I'm not to worried on the barrel, it is usually in line with a torso, leg, or something.
The main worry is the cylinder, and the handle.
I have a bigger handle, but then it sticks too far out.
I'm looking at this as a BUG, Back Up Gun.
So it's either on an ankle holster, or belt weak side.

Holy ****. (I just discovered today that the *'s will pop up automatically when I cuss. I've been typing them in myself.)

Actually that kinda works out, to save you from getting in trouble.
If you type the word out, and **** appears, you're ok.
If you type the word out, and the word appears, what can they say, it wasn't on the filter list.

But they (the Mods) do not like when you try to circumvent the system by typing the bad word out, and changing a couple characters.
You can get away with it, but if someone reports it, you might get an infraction.
    Better to use the filter.

Cool. Sounds good. My LCR had an aftermarket night sight when I got it. (Wish the night sight was on my 686... that's my "nightstand" gun. May have to look into it.)

    Night Sights for 686+

Meprolight Tritium Night Sights DISCOUNT | Meprolight Fiber Optic Sights & More Online!

    Amazon.com: 686 night sights

And your local gun store either has some, or can get them.

Just remember the difference***,, fiber optic is not night sight. Fiber optics concentrate available light. If there is no light, then they don't work. Spend a little more get the night sight.

It is not really necessary for front and rear. It's nice, but not necessary.
    Practice, practice, practice.
    Practice on the range.
Unload, and practice at home bringing the gun up.

After a while, the rear will naturally line up with the front. And, inside the home, ranges are shorter, there is such a thing as "good enough".
