Well that storm put a real damper on my shooting range trip... My groups at 200 yards were like 3 inches with all the wind and the dang rain blowing sideways and all... The little NFA AR pistol worked great though even with the bath.... Got the truck washed too.... mother nature was really out there in full force...

Thanks to the storm I'm still stranded in Florida. Got the next flight out booked for 1100 tomorrow.

Can't wait to get home. Tried to track down a halfway decent cigar, nothing I could find within an hours drive. After today, I need one. Son is in Indy with in laws, dunno how my house fared the storm, we're ready to come home

You haven't missed anything except rain and wind.

Well, tomorrow I'm headed off to try to convince the work doc that I'm able to go back to work. Cleared my doc on Friday, with restrictions. The case worker at work couldn't get hold of a boss Friday to clear my restrictions.
Overtime was a contributing factor to my back problem.
So I'm not even cleared to go back, and my boss has me scheduled 56 hours. What a crock.

I have a feeling next year is going to suck even more.
In a crew of 5, one is retiring, and 2 are transferring.
So I'm either going to be working 12 hour days, 7 days a week, with no vacations, or they are going to have to restructure having instrument/electronics coverage.

Had a bit of water in the basement but not too serious. Bigger problem is the loose shingles. I think the roof is still under warranty so that's a plus.

Couple houses lost big sections of vinal fencing and a couple rogue mailboxes too.

I'm guessing everyone visits INGO from PC's then, eh? Kinda quiet in here. Power just came back up in Lowell. Got some major cleanup to do at he shop tomorrow. Trees down, objects scattered and the cows are now in the wrong pasture... Electric fences only work when there is electricity.

Wasn't too bad here from the storms, just wind and rain and a few limbs down in the yard but thats it. Kinda nuts how I was just in Peoria last weekend. Kinda reminds me of when Atlantic City got flooded as I was there like 2 months before Sandy hit.

Steel cased vs. Brass cased

Here is the summary for those who don't want to read all that stuff.

Some bulletpoints from the report.
- 4 brands of ammo were tired but the TULA ammo failed so bad in the AR that they quit using it.
- No evidence to back up the claim that lacquer coatings melt in the chamber and cause extraction failures
- Barrels wore out faster with the steel case ammo

Read the last paragraph in the link for a good summary.
Or better yet skip the "i have to be clean" AR and get yourself an AK. ;)

Interesting... I've always run steel unless I could get a good price on brass. Might have to reconsider. Though, I almost never shoot rifle, might have 500rds through mine at best. But my steel cased is pretty much gone, got maybe a hundred brass cased cartridges, won't be buying any more steel.

Did you read the last paragraph of the report?
Are you not going to buy any more steel because it wears the barrel out faster?

Got so much positive feedback from the November Open Carry night that people were asking when the next event would occur. Many of the people who were asking were not even INGO members, but they loved the "gun show" :draw: that took place and want to come back for the next one! Consequently I'm going to turn the next cigar night into another INGO cigar night.

Thursday Dec 5, 6pm to 9pm

J. Fuego Origen Cigars at the 1101 Cigar Lounge will sponsor

:ingo: NWI INGO Open Carry Night :ingo:

cigar_origen_box.png

J. Fuego is a small cigar company that is known for blending some of the best cigars in the world that are sold by other cigar companies! J. Fuego is the company behind several "TOP 25" and "BEST VALUE" cigars, but its a company you likely have never heard of because the cigars that they make, that win awards, have traditionally been made in the J. Fuego factory and sold under other brand names. Now, stepping out from behind the curtain, J. Fuego is releasing their own cigars. Their newly introduced ORIGEN series has already been given a "92" rating by Cigar Afficinado Magazine, other ratings are pending from the cigar media.

As with all our NWI INGO Open Carry Cigar Nights . . . you do not need to purchase anything, you do not need to smoke a cigar, you do not need to Open Carry.

The guitar player is booked. The night is reserved. Let's meet up and have some fun.

Let's make this another LONG ARM event so bring a rifle/shotgun/bazooka/flame thrower, or what have you and lets have another big gun show & tell.
