    Suregrip with inner belt. Taco double pistol/rifle pouches. Dump pouch. Can't find anything in molle like the California shot shell carrier or a molded/kydex molle holster.

    If I went with fastmag double pouches it'd be even more. Think I might run my 5.11 operators belt with paddle holster/magazine holder and borrow a shot carrier from cliff for Niles.

    You can call me maybe...

    LOL now get that song outta your head!!!!

    Ok. What do you guys think about optics for Black Betty??? (Black Rain Ordnance "Fallout" AR-10)

    I was thinking about ....

    Scope = Vortex - Viper PST 1-4x24
    Offset Reddot = Vortex - Razor
    rda_rzr-offset_razor-hd_mounted-t.jpg

    Normally, I don't ask. Normally I have exactly what I want, already in my mind.

    If it were a .223 AR, I'd probably just go red dot, this razor or an eotech.
    But, in my mind, the .308 means I want to "touch" stuff at 200 yd minimum.
    Not real long range, but not up close and personal.
    But..... it's an AR. So in my mind, the scope creates a problem with up close.
    This seems nice.
    But I'd have to train myself.
    Red dot for quick.
    Scope for more accurate, slower response.

    But now I'm convinced I'm going to complicated. I'm a big believer in KISS.
    (for those that don't know... Keep It Simple Stupid)

    So now I'm totally confused.
    Was thinking about messageing A&A optics (ingo advertiser), but thought I'd get your guys opinions first.

    And we haven't even gotten to the Back UP Sights.
    What's a good, dependable back up sight company. I don't want some cheap poo that going to break.

    You did good.
    I sometimes miss the new guys if I'm too busy to check. I think the welcome thread is only open a day.

    Jedi sometimes posts, but sometimes misses.
    Lonehoosier is pretty good at spotting them.
    Feel free to let new NWI guys know about these threads.
    And let us know on this thread about them, so we can welcome them.

    Yahoo!

    Found this in the news.
    In the first video, a GUY sings a Whitney Houston song. Is awesome. And they don't know he's a guy.

    Then, further down, singing twins.
    It doesn't get any better than this.

    For that 3-gun style set up, I'd go with a higher power scope. You've got the close stuff covered with the reflex sight. If that is the zoom range you want, you need to look at the Leupold Mark AR versions.

    Illumintaed retical;

    Leupold 1.5-4x20 Mark AR MOD 1 Riflescope

    I recently picked up the non illuminated version;

    Back up iron sights: Troy

    As for the optics, if you want to keep it simple, then just mount the 1-4x.

    1x for quick shooting
    4x for modest distances.

    I used a 1-4x Millett on one of my 6.5 Grendels in that way. Not quite the quality of glass you are considering, but the same magnification so the comparison is pretty simple. It makes for a nice dual purpose optic. Dial it down to 1x and its not quite as fast as a Red Dot but its pretty quick. Dial it up for shooting longer ranges.

    But if you really want 2 optics, then I'd use a little reflex for short range and, like Nipperdog suggests, I'd go with a somewhat higher magnification scope for the primary optic. 1-4x is not a lot of magnification. Then again my eyes are old and tired.

    Well, you guys have a point. I will look at a more medium magnification.
    Anyone else?
    If you want to test a 1-4x scope I can lend you one of my Milletts to try out. Honestly I don't think it will give you the magnification you are looking for, but I've got a couple of them so if you want to play with one I can bring it to the cigar lounge and you can pick it up and try it out on Black Betty. The mount its in is a quick attach so its no problem to bring a scope and mount.

    BTW the mosin does hurt after a while. :(
    I noticed a nice light purple brush on my shoulder from where the mosin kept pushing back into me. Strange that it did not hurt on SUN. MON I had some discomfot but did not think anything of it. This morning however it finally hit me what/where the pain was at!

    Was gonna go with the Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50 FFP on my M1A and possibly add an offset Burris FastFire, lol.

    I might wait though. I kinda want to get a loaded or a SOCOM and add that EBR stock setup and do it on there.
