meant to post this earlier, but if anyone's interested (cool for the kids and such) Thomas dodge in highland has two monster trucks out front, one is display and the other has seating in the back and they're taking people for rides around the parking lot, kinda neat. watched it all day from my shop across the street. i know they're there tomorrow, probably Saturday too.

Got to love this text from the article:

"County officials said state-mandated limits on the amount of taxes they can collect from local property owners have forced them into the dilemma of either borrowing, cutting essential services or imposing a local income tax. The council is unwilling to cut or tax at this time."

Yup lets not reduce or spending and let's not increase our revenue. Instead let's just borrow and worry about it in the future.

Also from the article the distirct includes some of the most economically devastated portions of the city yet since JUN of 2012 it's had no representation since Jackson has been MIA.

Funny part of it is.... Lake County is looking to borrow it from Porter County, and the treasurer over here is taking grief over it as being a risky investment...

You realize that if PORTER county does give LAKE county the money PORTER will never, ever, ever see that money again right!

Case in point City of Gary owes between 8-10 million to RDA since 2 years ago now. Gary is never going to pay that. Everyone knows it. They are broke.

PORTER would be s..... to lend LAKE any money. It's more like PORTER is going to "give for free" that money to LAKE.

Eventually the state is going to have to bail out LAKE. Which in turn is going to lead (like many other states) to the FEDs bailing out the STATEs, which in turn...
