I decided to take a vacation day rather than risk the drive from Lowell to RT30 and 394. I hate using my days for this. Much rather use them for fun on nice days.

You made a wize decision. 394 was gridlock. Someone took out a light at transportation dr. 30 to the Indiana state line was bad, lot of multiple car accidents on that stretch.

I left the house at about 8:45 to take my son to school then run some errands around the mall. Most the roads were good to go, a bit wet, but not much ice, even though everyone I got stuck behind was driving 15 under. i-65 SB was a mess when I went past, but was cleared by the time I headed home around noon.

Roads in Griffith and going to East Chicago were pretty icy. Hopefully the way back will be a lot less sliding. I didn't see any in ditches or off road, but I did see quite the couple slide

At the start of school at Lake Central HS, 3K students had not arrived + some teachers. It took my buddy's wife, who lives in Schererville, 90 min. to get to her elementary to teach. Bet the administration office phones rang all day.

The ice did make for a bad travel day yesterday. Hope today is better.

Chef Larry, roads were great near me. One vehicle doing 25 in a 50 though. No passing area and traffic coming down the other side anyway. Almost missed the train. 5 minutes later, still trying to catch my breath.
