But again......what and why. What put them on this track. W will never know past the obvious. They wanted an investigation. They needed it.

This is the question Acting Attorney General Rod J Rosenstein can answer.

The problem with those on the left is that they were destined to win. EVERYONE told them so! All media, all polls, everyone said Hillary was going to win. In all fairness I thought she was going to win. I didn't want her to win, but I thought she was due to all the coverage based upon the polls. The polls weren't just a little off either, they showed significant support for her well beyond the normal margin of error.

So when the world turned upside down (from everyones expectations) WE were elated that she wasn't in. We were stunned but, "Whoopee! Yay! Wahoo!:rockwoot:"

But the other side was stunned in a very different fashion. They could not believe the new reality. All the polls told them they were going to win. All the information out there told them Hillary was it. And when she wasn't they looked for someone, anyone to blame. He cheated... It was rigged... The Russians cheated... The Chinese interfered... The Bavarian Illuminati manipulated.... The mob wanted him...

Anything but, "Oops, the polls were all wrong. Mea culpa. Our (MSM) bad."

In all fairness I think we'd be going through exactly the same thing if the shoe were on the other foot. If it were Trump v/s Pelosi and Trump was up on average 4 - 6 points across the board, then Pelosi wins we'd be needing more blood pressure medicine and gnashing our teeth. After all, he was well outside the margin of error to win. How could everyone get it wrong.

But that's the people. People are dumb. "A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky dangerous animals..." - TL Jones (MIB)

The person I do question in this is AAG R Rosenstein. No matter what the "people" wanted, he was the one who should have carefully reviewed all of the accusations and seen that it wasn't just a random 911 call, it was the paranoid at the end of the street that called every day to report another dope fiend selling smack.

This is my longwinded way of winding back to the beginning and wondering EXACTLY what the investigation was based on. An honest citizen or Mrs. Kravitz?

    Regards,

    Doug

PS - In the end though, Gladys was right. Everyone is guilty of something.;)

But I doubt "we" would be committing arson, assaulting Democrats wearing MASU hats (Make America Socialist Union), wearing penis hats and marching on Washington, having our representatives telling the public to harass Democrat politicians and their families wherever they see them, etc.. One side acts like adults and carries on. One side acts like petulant toddlers, only with more serious consequences.

Not sure I understand your point. How does it benefit the media to never be believed again?

    .

It doesn't benefit the media--it benefits those who want us to distrust anything the media says.

If only there was a media source we could trust. Do we need some new laws to help ensure this kind of near-slander of our President never happens again?

I'm not sure how long they've been around, but I have Metronet, and they offer a channel called O.A.N.N. (One America News Network), and they are really good.
They show much more international news than most of the other channels, and they show little to no bias in their news reporting.
They do have one or two opinion programs, but for the most part, they are a completely unbiased news service.

I agree completely. If we were anything like what those very people accuse of being and doing while they engage in something between harassment and terrorism themselves, we would all at minimum have bumper stickers with slogans like BURN A LIBERAL FOR JESUS. So far, I haven't seen anything of the kind.

I had forgotten about that. Crowder mentioned that media awarded themselves Pulitzer prizes for Russiagate coverage:

Let's not forget that The Washington Post and The New York Times won the 2018 Pultizer Prize for their national reporting of President Donald Trump's alleged collusion with Russia. They were awarded $15,000 in a joint prize.

The "award winning" journalists include Maggie Haberman, Jo Becker, Matt Apuzzo and Mark Mazetti from The Times and Rosalind Helderman, Tom Hamburger, Ellen Nakashima, Adam Entous and Greg Miller from WaPo.

They received the award "For deeply sourced, relentlessly reported coverage in the public interest that dramatically furthered the nation’s understanding of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and its connections to the Trump campaign, the President-elect’s transition team and his eventual administration."

Deeply sourced? Hardly. I remember a lot of anonymously sourced "revelations" and many claims having to be walked back.

Relentlessly reported? Yes. Two years worth.

Furthered the nation’s understanding of Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election and its connections to the Trump campaign, the President-elect’s transition team and his eventual administration? No. Whatever the Russians might have done, Trump's campaign, transition team and administration was not involved.

The mockery and shame the MSM has brought upon itself should never ever end. The deep divisions they've intentionally fostered in American politics is pure evil.

More like Bull****zer Prize. Pushing a narrative based on emotion and ideology is not journalism, it's propaganda dissemination.

It's also defamation of character, but good luck trying to sue anyone.
Washington seems to be coated in Teflon.

When reporting on public figures, the media can be as negligent as can be and even completely reckless without incurring liability for defamation. It is only liable if it actually knew what it was reporting was false.

I’m sure that these media outlets dearly wanted what they were reporting to be true. They were, however, both negligent and reckless....which doesn’t get you a defamation suit in this case.

They really have been pushing the boundary's of the rights we all share. Not exactly sure how to slow this all down but yes, it is way out of hand.
