Ruger P95DC 9mm - purchased from my brother in law who needed money. He said that his freind had had the same problem as I did, he warned me of it and I blew him off....
It had an ambidextris(?) mag release and they sort of stuck out. The recoil would release the mag EVERY time I shot the gun. I never seen any thing like it. I sold it to a guy that my dad works with and he still owns with no complaints.
I thought the problem may have been because of me being a small guy "small hands, short fingers" I strained to wrap my hand around the gun and reach the trigger somehow hitting the mag release on recoil.

ParaOrd P13. Could not get the magazines to feed reliably. Sent mags and gun back to PO 2 or 3 times, gave up and traded for a Glock. Became convinced that 1911's are supposed to be single-stack and that's it.

Ruger Super Redhawk .44 Magnum. A revolver that jammed. Also sent to the factory to be worked on. Also came back just as sucky.

Sadly the top two for me would be Rugers. Most people love them, but I had a P95 that I just hated. Tried several times to like the gun, but you were lucky to hit the broad side of a barn with it. Wasn't just me either, my father had only slightly better luck shooting it.

Worse then it was the mini-14 I had. Wouldn't group for anything and jammed frequently. The final slap in the face was selling it, only to have the Clinton AWB pass only days later. Still to this day I get ticked off everytime I see one of them.

I've owned 4 Sig Sauers, 1 226,1 229 and 2 225s all purchased NIB and all jammed badly even with ball ammo out of the box. Cleared up after 3-500 rds in each case but I've never had this problem with any other pistol.

The only gun that has ever disappointed me was my S&W Escort .22 that thing would only fire about every third try and then it would jam and the thing was so inaccurate I couldn't even shoot my own foot with it unless I tried to shoot yours. Now there are guns that I've paid too much for but that's a whole different subject and time evens that out.

Springfield 1911 Champion. On third magazine fired (factory ball), plunger tube on side of frame fell off. Sent back to Springfield, my expense, who had for weeks and weeks. Got back repaired and over next several months other parts would break or fall off. That one is long gone.
Kimber .22 cal. 1911 pistol. Ran good but no one who shot it could not get a decent grouping with it. At fifteen yards it would be 3 to 7 inches. For that kind of money, you would expect at least as good of a group as a Browning Buckmark (good .22 pistol).

every charles daly semi auto shotgun Ive ever bought...one of those "ah Ill give this model a try..maybe its better" they all suck...the safety freezes up in cold weather and FTE the heavier loads....even though 2 of them where labeled as "waterfowl guns"

For me, it was a Calico M-100 P in .22 cal. I bought it for a 'fun' plinker. It was a total jam-a-matic. I tried all kinds of things: supercleaning, ten different kinds of ammo, prayers to the gun gods, etc. Sold it within two months. The guy I sold it to also sold it as soon as he could. It's probably on its 100th owner by now.

My puma lever action.... never matched my 45 colt revolver, and shot a deer with it and didnt knock it down (didnt penetrate shoulder blade).... great gun, but was impractical to my arsenal

Ditto, Puma lever in 44 mag. Plenty of power but never found a load that shot good enough to suit me. I had high hopes for that gun, loved the looks and feel but Like I said, it was one of the few guns I've ever had that I could out shoot it.

all Kimbers... you are paying for a "custom" gun that has parts fitted by a gunsmith, but break in is required... if they are fitted by a proffesional, they they shouldnt be too tight to work w/out a break in period.... plus i dislike all guns with hydrolicly pressed in sights... cough kimer, cough xd.

I got to go with Kimber 1911 not because its a bad gun but because its not the great gun it's supposed to be.

I bought a FN Copy, can't even remember the name, but spent months just trying to get it to feed, never found out if you could hit anything with it. Had a bad feeling when I bought it but bought it anyway, you know how that goes

S&W Sigma in 40, here again had the bad feeling but did it anyway

I've read through these and some of the bad guns bought I have to wonder what the manufacture was even thinking the hk vp70 and the 22 escort WOW how ugly can you get.

Wish this board had been back when I made my bad choice.

Bersa Thunder 380. Bought it new this year and had the dreaded disconnector spring issue. Spring would jump the slot under the grip after about 20 rounds. Sent off to the factory repair shop twice and each time I got it back it would fail.

Posted on bersa talk.com and my posts were mysteriously deleted. Talk about being bummed. Went back to glocks and havent had a hiccup.

That's pretty odd. Only time I have seen them delete posts were ones in the wrong Forum. Everyone there raves about the quick turn around with Colorado Gun Works doing the warranty repair on the spring issue..:dunno:

My Lorcin .380 jammomatic that I bought back in 1993 or 1994. First semi-auto that I ever bought. Sold that sucker off within 6 months. I warned the friend I sold it to, but he didn't seem to care. As of last year he still has it too, though he never shoots it.
^^^^^This. I bet we bought the exact same pistol. I actually bought two of them. Safety didn't work. Gun would jam every 3-5 shots. Completely worthless. It was the first pistol I ever owned though. For $100 I got what I paid for and was happy about it.

My disappointments weren't so much because the pistols had problems...

But that, after spending HUNDREDS of dollars on the pistols themselves, I just discovered that they "weren't for me".

Case #1 was my Springfield EMP. GORGEOUS pistol. Extremely accurate. Ran like a top once SA fixed the problem... Just not a single action / 1911 fan.

Case #2 was the HK P7. Again, hundreds of dollars. Beautiful. Extremely accurate. Ran like a top...as it should've. Just didn't enjoy it.

I know ChrisK loves the EMP, and I hope Dr. Pretorious still likes the P7. :D
