On Yahoo, I saw a blurb from a twitter post that supposedly included part of an application for divorce, filled out by Farook's mother some time in the past.

On the application, she describes Farook's father as "mad all the time...drinking all day...hitting me for no reason..." And, including at least one incident where Farook stepped in to stop his father from hitting his mother.
