Back to the OP, I have a KIA EV6 GT. I absolutely love it. It's comfortable, and it's well put together. I've had it for just under a year and a half, and have no regrets.
And although I'm not ready for an all-electric vehicle, I took one for a spin around Mishiwawka just for grins while they were prepping my new Stinger. I like fast, and dammit, that dual motor EV6 was faster than ****. If KLB and I went head to head in the quarter mile, he'd be waiting at the finish line on his 2nd beer by the time my little 368 HP sedan got there.

    I'm the same.

I have a couple recalls I want to have taken care of which means I have to take the car in. Not looking forward to it.

When the car got a flat it took out the tpms for that tire. Not spending the $$ to replace it but since the light is on I know they will try their hardest.
What is it (Car that is)? The TPMS on the 12/12 Rios and the 23 Seltos/Forte can be replaced with aftermarket and do not require programming. I can even get you the link to the ones I put in the second set of wheels for the Forte.

List of Hy/Kia cars owned and miles:
    2002 Elantra from 2002-2012 180k miles
    2000 Accent 2007-2012 250+k (owned for about 150+k)
    2010 Forte SX sedan 2012-2016 67k miles
    2008 Rio Sedan auto 2012-2017 160k miles
    2014 Forte Koup 2.0/6A 2017-2021 110k miles (owned for 50k)
    2003 Hyundai Tiburon (track car/daily thing) 240k miles, 2018-2021. *
2012 Rio SX hatch auto 2021-2023 130k miles (owned the last 40k)
    2013 Rio SX manual 2021-current 127k miles (owned 40k)
    2023 Seltos S FWD 2023-current (23k miles)
    2023 Forte GT manual 2023-current (14k miles)

So we still have 3 Kia's in the stable. The '13 is my race car with Gridlife Sundae Cup. IT's had a hard life. Sat for 18 months in Cleveland, then was driven straight home at 80mph for 5 hours, fluids changed and put on track 2 weeks later. Since then it's seen 2 One Lap of America (4k miles each with track stops every day), 3 seasons of GridLife and multiple other venues and groups. 40k miles since purchase and it's still going. Sadly losing power and burning oil. Rings appear to be going Bluetooth on me.

    * this was the only car that should have been thrown away. Was building it to be a track car. Had beefy coilovers, big brakes and 245 tires on all corners. Sitting on jackstands the chassis was so weak you couldn't open or close the doors. 240k midwestern miles, multiple track weekends and it was just done. Still sold it for $2500.

I just picked up my br-in-law from the kia dealership last week. His daily driver--no clue what model kia--had to go in for a total engine replacement. Still under warranty thank goodness, but the dealership was pretty blase about it, as if this happens fairly frequently.

Personally, I'd stay FAR away from any brand that has a habit of using self-cannibalistic engines.
Makes me even happier we became a Toyota family.
    Oh, like these?

    Humans are involved. **** happens.

We had one, never again. We had 182,000 miles on it. No one would work on it not even the dealer. Engines were unobtainable and unrepairable. The car was serviceable (useable) but the engine was trash. It was a 2013 CDI 1.6 L
    Buyer beware.
So you were overseas then? I would have loved to have had the CDi engines brought to the US. THose little diesels would knock down 50mpg US and still made plenty of power.

182k miles on anything anymore with minimal service is pretty normal. HEll anything past 100k on the japanese side usually involves timing sets and manual valve adjustments.

..... formerly near the Wild Turkey
...1) 2018 Chevy Equinox with just under 60k miles. 2) 2019 Nissan Murano (cvt transmission) with 46k miles. 2018 Ram 2500 with 99k miles, and a 2018 Yukon with 98k miles.

    ...

So my Subaru CVT's are safe then!! YeeHah! Just kiddin, I know your thoughts on them ...

... but mine is the heavier duty CVT for the 2.4 TURBO, so I'm extra safe, I'm sure ...

No, it was a 2013 gas engine.

yeah, I know. It was sarcasm because you had no idea what it was but you knew it was terrible with almost 200k miles
    Well that's not the problem.
It was the fact that no one, not even the dealer would accept it for repairs.
They were known for failures, there was even a recall on them up to 150,000 miles.
The one my granddaughter had was making a loud ticking noise like a loose tappet and I was afraid it would drop a valve sooner than later.
So we sold it to "We buy any, any, any car.com
The Kia Soul would not have been my choice to start with.
