At least Flake had the sense to bail out of this senate business instead of hanging on for decades like McCain did. Can you imagine the frustration this idiot would have caused if he hadn't. Too bad he simply didn't just resign.
Didnt somebody upthread point out he was primaried and didnt have a choice?

This asshat didnt quit willingly. He is being forced out.

So I don't want to vote for spineless Repubs.
I don't want to vote for traitor Dems.
Libertarians put up crazy candidates, even more than the above 2.
Green party well, other than save the planet, they don't really seem to have much.
I go down the list, and see NO ONE.

And while I generally agree with "use logic. Don't insult" After today, I really am having a hard time with that.
Since "logic" sailed out the friggin window and hasn't been seen in a while.

So here's the question. If multiple sources state that Kavanaugh was drinking regularly, was sloppy, to the point of passing out... and that his description of "Renate Alumnus," and "Devil's Triangle" were purposely inaccurate, combined with Mark Judge placing him at this particular party in question (but still not doing anything illegal), should Kav (who at that point would be outted) as lying be confirmed? Or for that matter if ANY of his testimony is deemed misleading, or false, should he be confirmed?

Kut (wonders how much one is willing to accept)

A lie is a lie. At the very least a lie about something as miniscule as that removes all credibility in my eyes. Blatant, she lied more than once about it, and that lie basically gave the dems another week to drum up more bs accusations which now leads us to this. Another week where they can then fabricate more bs accusations

What lie are you specifically talking about?

I accept I no longer care.
The Democrats apparently "deserve" the power, because they fight for it.
the Republicans pretty much roll over and ask people to love them.

So we'll just sing the yellow brick road song, install someone as the king, except maybe they'll want to go with "president for life".

If it makes you feel better, Democrats say just the opposite.

She can't remember a single thing.
Except a couple witnesses that say they didn't witness it.
And that it was DEFINATELY Kav.
But can't remember pretty much anything else.

Oh, except that she can't fly.
    but she can.

Oh, and apparently she can't remember where, when, etc. but she can remember she had ONE drink.

And when the Republicans hold up a "victim" at the last minute, that they've had for months...
Maybe I'll think they have a case.

And how many Republicans have said they'd like to do away with private property, and that socialism .. pure socialism.. is good?

Did she actually say she "CAN'T" fly? And the other stuff hasn't been proven to be a lie. Anyone who studied people who have traumatic experiences understands that their mind doesn't recall everything in detail. Some things may be very vivid, in their minds, and others not so much. That honestly applies to memories in general.

Yeah, I agree, that's shady... but it's politics.

..... formerly near the Wild Turkey
The reference to the lie was about her not being able to fly, and thus needing another week delay, and then her flying to the hearing, which she was asked under direct questions. And then a list was read off of about a dozen places she had flown to in a certain time period, including Hawaii (not a short flight). Also, she flies from Cali to Delaware every year to visit family. But they got their 1 week delay.

What lie are you specifically talking about?

    Yes.
And it's ALSO TRUE that memories that are "lost" then "regained" will frequently have something "fit in" to replace that knowledge.
    It's called "false memory".
It's OFTEN associated with memories lost after a traumatic event.

    MMMM
Seems that she thought this was traumatic.

But hey, I guess we believe her, and not the others she said were witnesses.

    Holy **** ... yes.

That was the “reason” she couldn’t testify last week and had to drive. Flying is claustrophobic and reminds her of the “rape” by Kavanaugh.

    You know what.
I think, even though I have all this time to sit on my hands... maybe I need to take a day or so INGO break.
Cause :xmad: posting gets people in trouble. And I don't want to not be able to communicate with the friends I have here if I get the mods attention.
