I know during the 2A March we walked right past the CCB and the jail twice with no problems. Neither time did we have an escort either. I think most officers are well versed in the law these days, but I think some fell asleep during that class. Either way, +1 to the IMPD/MCS that were cool about it. I still think we need to do this again.

Next time though on a weekend and in several groups in different parts of downtown.

I think a walking tour on S. Capitol, S. Missouri, W. McCarty and W. South streets on a Sunday afternoon would be a good time to do this, I'm free Dec. 5th from 3-4:30

My point is that they HAD to investigate you, legal or not, and they probably reverted to reflex - which is dealing with dirtbags, not legally-carrying citizens. Wouldn't matter to them if you were in the lobby of the CCB, as long as they felt they were "handling" the situation.

I heard through the officer that was standing next to me mic the one that took my gun as dispatch for the ATF number. Then he got on his cell phone and made a call.

I believe 100% that he didn't know what was in his hands and wanted someone to look at it.
