    Kirk speaking of blood pressure, that has been a great side affect of lifting weights. I had a complete physical on Wednesday BP was 115/87 and a 52 BPM heart rate. I am pretty happy about this to say the least. Its nice to see a measurable improvement on my health for the time I have invested.

    Hiked a couple miles North of Juneau AK today @ point Bridget. Trails were tricky with packed and loose snow. Good exercise. I forgot my hand held GPS + didn't want to get eaten by a bear so didn't go too far.

    I ran 9 miles Thursday evening while the boy was at baseball. Worked in a quick chest workout Friday with the whole family. Did an hour on the rower Saturday and a quick arm workout with the whole family yesterday. Not sure what today will be.

    Light back squats and 30" box jumps for the first part today. The metcon was 50 cal on assault bike, 40 front squats (95lb), 30 T2B, 20 push press (95lb), and 10 (jumping) muscle-ups. The bike was a rough way to start since it was only my second time on the assault bike. waaa2

    The Assault Bike may look like the old Schwinn Airdyne's but they don't feel anything like them.:crying:

    son of a... just realized 17.5 was only 9 thrusters per round. I did 10 :(

    probably would have gone unbroken more rounds than I did if I knew that. Nuts. I'll want to retest that soon just for giggles.

    That sucks! I'll take a few weeks this fall and retest most of them again. I may do 17.2 & 17.5 sooner, feel like I can definitely improve on those.

    I'm on the treadmill for a 30min walk/jog. I need to defat myself. Abstaining from alcohol for a month and will see if that helps. Stopping Diet Coke didn't do a dang thing

    Did some deadlift work today, haven't pulled "heavy" (probably 185lbs max in WODS) in 3-4 years due to injuries.

    285 x 10 (x2), 355 x 1. Didn't want to push it as I shattered my ankle two years ago and wasn't sure how it would feel after trying to push my heels through the earth. I think I had a little more in me. Currently at 220lbs, need to lose a quick 20lbs (mostly have been out of the gym for 2+ years), and then re-pull for a 2x body weight lift.

    I was on the struggle bus today.

    3 rounds of
    7 squat clean and jerks 115#
    14 kettle bell swings 53#
    21 dumbbell slams (like a slam ball but you have to stop it from hitting the floor at the bottom, sucks) 25/30#, can't remember what I did

    Took me 17:06. Ugh. My wrist mobility sucks so the squat cleans were not comfortable at all, then to do the jerk afterwards. Ugh. Had to take a break and stretch my back before last set of KB swings too

    I ran 3 miles today on the canal with our 14th recruit class. We ran a nice and easy 9 min mi formation run. Nice warm-up run to get me sweating but not enough to breath hard. Then off to my last bjj training this week before my competition this weekend in Chicago. IBJJF Chicago International Spring Open. Should be fun.
