    Damn. I came in here expecting to find a DIY on how to make a hummingbird trap from a garage. I am sorely disappointed. :(

    I didn't read all the posts, so I'm not sure if anyone suggested that the little red handle on the automatic opener might be mistaken for a dangling flower by hummingbirds.

    Some people paint the handle black to keep them from flying in the garage.

    I don't know how many of the little buggers that fly in and then fly out but over a summer, I can tell you how many don't. They always seem to make it upstairs, into the storage area, above the garage but never seem to think to fly back downward.

    I prefer to use #9 shot. The problem with the hummingbirds is it takes so many to feed a family of four. Great on shishkabobs. We call them humbobs! :):
