They want to put a female on a bill..Got no problem with that.... With all the deeper problems we have in this country, I certainly don't care who they put on a bill...
Somebody say putting a female on a Bill?
"Any white person...now risks being characterized as having roots based on bigotry and undeserved privilege."
I think I'll still think less of Jackson. He was just not one of our great presidents. I'm okay with booting him off the 20.
He was a product of his time. My opinion is the founders that are on the bills ought to be "off limits" and secure. The others could be deemed as temporary and be replaced to honor other great people of our country as deemed appropriate.
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/05/22/...v2OO4vUiiqKd-o80XIxdSDAstiwR3aBlxqRdJpLDC2PPcWASHINGTON — Harriet Tubman — former slave, abolitionist, “conductor” on the Underground Railroad — will not become the face of the $20 bill until after President Trump leaves office, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Wednesday.
If we view Jackson through our the lens of modern times, then yeah, he's a pretty despicable dude.
However, when you consider that he made is name fighting Indians (who were more than willing to kill settlers in the most brutal and ruthless methods imaginable), fighting the British (the battle of New Orleans can be considered THE most important in our country), and standing up to corrupt financial practices, then you have to think of the kind of personality that sort of action would require. He was unyielding and ruthless in many ways and also uncouth, which is what made him popular, much like our current president.
Hell, the guy survived SEVERAL assassination attempts.
He helped to secure our independence, and paid off THE ENTIRE National debt. He was a hard man during hard times.
Are we sure we aren't thinking about Andrew Johnson? Now that guy was completely worthless in every sense of the word.

WHY CHANGE ? Just More Liberal BS with No weight of Law.
Because every country needs to update currency as an anti-counterfeit measure.
Iran, North Korea, Russia & China all produce 'Super Bills', bills virtually indistinguishable from actual US currency.
It's never been a 'Presidents Only' club, Ben Franklin wasn't a president.
With Susan B. & Sacagawea dollars, it's not a 'Men Only' or 'White People' only club.
As for 'Rule Of Law', it's the LAW the US Treasury work to keep the monetary system safe from counterfitters,
So the change IS MANDATED under the rule of law, the $20 bill being the second most counterfitted in circulation.
The old 100 dollar bill being the first most counterfitted, with nearly 1/4 in circulation produced in Russia, Iran, North Korea...
That was the reason for starting with $100 bills first, and changing them twice in just a few years.
(Turns out Ben's face is REALLY hard to reproduce by counterfitters)
I don't care if they put a bar code on it or a picture of Bart Simpson,
The snack machines aren't going to take them half the time anyway...
How about real genius?
George Washington Carver, the father of modern plastics, resins, damage resistant crop rotation, inventer & teacher, born a slave and dedicated his life to education & research...
Not one scandal his entire lifetime.
How about Nicola Tesla,
Genius inventor that built the entire AC power grid from more or less scratch with his pure genius inventions, and your life isn't possible without?

Because some people have to see (reverse) racism everywhere. So what?
Make the change. Why should we care? Harriet Tubman is a person worth honoring. What's the big deal?
