As an intellectual exercise, or maybe not to intellectual…

what happens if this escalates to a point where Israel drops a nuke on Tehran? What outside players will immediately strike? What players will fold due to fear? As the only the second nation to use nukes in anger, where does that put Israel internationally?

He sadly is correct. Who is going to intervene and stop a Lebanese civil war? Syria has been at it for 12 years now.

Probably the best thing that could happen for Lebanon would be for Hezbollah to push Israel too far and get them to crush them.

If you knew anything about the sheer scale of the bombings and damage to the cities, you would realize the truth. Most people just don't connect the dots on their own.

Much like our bombing of Japan.

The firebombing of Japanese cities, especially Tokyo, are problematic imo. Dropping the atomics on Nagasaki and Hiroshima, on the other hand, were necessary evils, which saved millions of lives. Not completely imo, but based on research.
