Back when it was legal I used to love going salmon snagging at Manitowok. That was some serious fun. I had a big old school bus converted into a camper and about 10 of us would head over there for a week or so. Biggest one I ever got was a 37 pounder but lots of them in the 20s.

Wife gave the choice of leaving for the cabin tonight or going fishing tomorrow. Have not been fishing yet. I'll try to catch something worthy of pictures. Hoping for a nice meal of redears.

Last week my son's scout troop was in the boundary waters in northern Minnesota. It was a good time and the boys got a trip that most men wouldn't do. They paddled over 43 miles and made 6 portages going in and 6 going out with only our last portage taking a single trip. Minimal whining from three 12 or 13 year olds and one 17 year old. The bass was 3.6# and was the first fish caught on the trip. Most Walleye were in the 19" - 20" range, and the pike in the picture was far from the largest one caught on the trip. The bushpot did a great job of frying up the fish that were battered in Krusteze pancake mix. We ate like kings. One of the other dads got the picture of my son and I paddling with the sunset behind us and I'll treasure that picture for life.

Awesome! I have done many trips into BWCA and loved every one of them. There are lots of walleyes there. Glad you enjoyed it and that is a great picture.

I made the trip with my son and his Troop. Some of my finest memories.

I'm having a rough season. The only thing I've caught is a buzz.
What kind of fishing you doing?
    Creeks, river, lakes, ponds ?
    Artificial baits ?
    Fly or castin?
Kayak, Canoe, boat or from the bank?

    With Bass right now its,
Buzz baits, wacky rigs, spinner baits near banks and facing against current is king.

Rocks, logs, around boat docks, against parked boats, under Pontoons, shade spots, bridge pillars are going to be where it’s at on summer days.

Early morning is a plus 1

Hard Bass fishing this time of year.

Tomorrow I have the service calls scheduled for Monday….

So I have these rigged up for tomorrow for the river. Going to be a lot of trolling the water is Looooow!
