Spent this weekend on Lake Michigan out of South Haven. The first shot is sunset Saturday and the second is the catch for that evening. Seven kings with the largest near 20lbs.

I love that harbor, unless there's a strong west wind....or their is a lot of grass growing in the marina and it clogs my A/C strainer.

Who am I kidding, it's a great harbor town and you had a great catch!

I did a bit of casting last night, while my son catches this within a few minutes of going out today.

Creek got flooded out Sunday morning so we drove over to some prohibited lakes we like to fish since our kayaks were already loaded.
Cold cold morning temps were 57dg with a 10-17mph east wind, thank god for the large tree line that blocked the wind allowing us to top water fish without blowing us to the east bank.
This lake can only be fished on the holidays due to security. We have been fishing it for over 20years. Prime Bass fishing!
Everything hit on top water baits! My favorite!

a couple weekends ago I joined 5 other guys from church to do some walleye fishing up on Lake Erie with Wanna Walleye Charters. John is an EXCELLENT guide, and he and his friends who are also charter captains all work together to get their customers to the hostpot of the moment. Multiple times throughout the days we were either following other captains in their drifts, or they were coming to us to drift. And it paid off. Got 2 short of the boat limit on Saturday, and did OK on Sunday.
Got out with LOTS of good fish.

Toured the Jackson National Fish Hatchery a while back, pretty neat place.

Fish eggs hatching into fry, they swim up and the constant flow of water makes them come out a waterfall into a tank.

    20240604_085620.jpg

    Thousands of fry.

    20240604_085633.jpg

Year old trout (they keep them to 18mo old).

Video showing some of the 200k fish they raise a year.

It's advertised as self guided, but we wound up getting a great tour guide.

Where did you go out from - harbor, marina, etc. ?

We have been going with a charter owner from our area here in IN. This is his 37th year and not sure how much longer he will do it. So always interested in hearing about other good charters just in case he retires.
