I'm sure that Phil's interview will cause A&E to lose viewers, just like Chick Fil A lost customers after the comments made by their CEO . I've read a few comments by homosexuals who watch Duck Dynasty and although don't agree with Phil's comments are ok with him making them. I think what struck a nerve with the public is the perceived long, ongoing assault on Christianity and Christians. IMHO, Duck Dynasty is popular because it is very funny and portrays a family with close ties, strong religious convictions and a rural lifestyle. Their charm is that they don't put on airs. From the great success of the show, people must have been hungry for this type of entertainment. Yeah, A&E can hire and fire at their whim, but sometimes what is A right isn't what IS right. Time will tell if it was a smart move to fire Phil Robertson. I think the show will survive, but maybe not on the same network.
