It's easy to take sides here.... I side with who is in the right. Neither fit that description at this point.

Exactly. I interpreted it in terms of picking one or the other, as opposed to not picking either, which is the reasonable alternative.

Prayers for the downed officers and their families.

I have a feeling he will not take his own life and will not surrender. I'm afraid he will go down in a shootout with police taking as many people with him as he can.

I think your right... But I do hope that he is taken alive, so he can die a long slow & painful death for what he had done.

When I heard they had him trap in a cabin, it made me think of the movie Death Hunt with Charles Bronson. Hope he has not had this planned out to do some type of sneak attack.

Not in our "just punishment" legal system. He'll either get an execution, which is pretty well painless with lethal injection, or life in prison, which consists of three square meals a day, a bed, television, and free medical care.

But he will have to live with it in his mind for the rest of his life knowing what he has done, and life as he knows it is over. Sometimes that's worse than death.

I will go along with this as long as the same is afforded for the officers who opened fire and/or otherwise attacked citizens who were not involved with Dorner.

This isn't necessarily so. We have a former cop who is willing to kill people who did nothing to him in order to mentally and emotionally harm someone he holds as having unjustly harmed him, and on the other side, we have active cops who jump at shadows and attack uninvolved persons indiscriminately when they get spooked. Trying to take sides in this one is pretty tough. My biggest concern is found in the political implications for the rest of us, including this being a perfect opportunity to justify recent government overreaches.

    Spot on.

    So Indiana
Part of the problem is that we've already decided he's guilty, by using the information from the MSM we already know is only worried about ratings no truth. He's guilty of the current shooting, but what was the start of it all. Once your fingered by lapd it is over for you.
