At least one of the presenters at Russia Today decided not to toe the party line. Not sure how long Putin will let her keep her job.

Russia Today Anchor Speaks Out Against Invasion Of Ukraine: 'What Russia Did Is Wrong'

Putin is taking a serious hit, in public opinion, back in Russia too. I think he'll reel it in sooner rather than later. He's put Russia in a really bad spot, and may have just kicked off a new Cold War. For a people just starting to get used to a western lifestyle, and goods, if sanctions go into place, there will be lots of people upset. Putin, with this, has had an EPIC bonehead moment. The west, and ALL former Soviet republics aren't going to look to fondly on him after this jackwagon move.

Easy, "Because Bush set into motion this appeasement, by failing to aid the Georgians in their conflict with Russia over South Ossetia. An empowered Kremlin then took steps to attempt the same in the Crimea. I, your current president, have thwarted the Russians ability to take the whole of the Ukraine, and am working with our international partners to see what action can be used to come to a peaceful solution in this matter."

    lol
Don't laugh, I've got a super leftist teacher making a very similar accusation.

How the far-right took top posts in Ukraine's power vacuum - Channel 4 News
In the new Ukrainian government politicians linked to the far-right have taken posts from deputy prime minister to head of defence. We profile the nationalists filling the power vacuum.

The man facing down Putin's aggression as secretary of the Ukrainian National Security and Defence Council is Andriy Parubiy. He oversees national security for the nation having previously served as security commandant during the anti-government protests in Kiev.
Parubiy was the founder of the Social National Party of Ukraine, a fascist party styled on Hitler's Nazis, with membership restricted to ethnic Ukrainians.
The Social National Party would go on to become Svoboda, the far-right nationalist party whose leader Oleh Tyahnybok was one of the three most high profile leaders of the Euromaidan protests - negotiating directly with the Yanukovych regime.
Overseeing the armed forces alongside Parubiy as the Deputy Secretary of National Security is Dmytro Yarosh, the leader of the Right Sector - a group of hardline nationalist streetfighters, who previously boasted they were ready for armed struggle to free Ukraine.
The new Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Sych is a member of the far-right Svoboda party, which the World Jewish Congress called on the EU to consider banning last year along with Greece's Golden Dawn.
Their declaration that Ukraine is controlled by a "Muscovite-Jewish mafia" has raised fears for the safety of the country's Jewish population.

Much more at the source(yes MSN have finally realized we put Nazi's in power).

I read that the Russian speaking media is reporting that hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians are fleeing toward the borders and that Putin is only trying to rescue their country.

Why would Clinton, and then Obama, spend time and money to disarm Ukraine... and remove their means of defending their country?

    Wish that would get reported.

Looks like Obama is ratcheting things up a notch.

Western powers move to punish Russia - Europe - Al Jazeera English

Barack Obama, the US president, issued an executive order and declared a state of emergency on Thursday, calling Russia's involvement in Crimea an "extraordinary threat" to US national security and foreign policy.
People who "undermine democratic processes and institutions in Ukraine, threaten its peace, security, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity and contribute to the misappropriation of its assets" will have any existing property and interests in the US blocked, Obama said.

    Wonder what that is.

So serious the president will draw an infra-red line.

Probably one and the same at this point. I doubt Putin will be satisfied with just Crimea.

It could also go to eastern regions of Ukraine.

Now, what if we get another Serbia/Bosnia scenario, with ethnic cleansing, etc. Does NATO have a credible plan to address that kind of activity?
