Yup. Apparently, only those cleared after their quarantine period were supposed to come back. Instead, they put known infected on the same plane (but separated). This decision was made by someone in the State Dept over the original instructions. I'm just cynical enough to wonder if this was a #resist decision.

They should have not brought any back period.
And how dumb to out both infected and non infected on same plane with all the recycled air.

The person who allowed this should be fired! Actually toss them in with the infected!

I'm pretty worried about our veterans. The average patient at the VA hospital is >60 y/o male with underlying systemic disease (often respiratory compromised).
This is the demographic I keep hearing with by far the highest mortality rates. Just praying it doesn't make it to Indy.

I'm afraid you are correct on that. Add smoking and you have pretty much the entire currently recognized list of high risk factors.

Not to minimize the effect of this disease for those infected, but it is also having a huge effect on businesses and supply lines:

Bloomberg: Maybe Global Supply Chains Were a Bad Idea: The coronavirus outbreak exposes the peril of far-flung parts networks and the risk of paralysis.

I'd like to file this under the category of "DUUUH"....

Gee, whoever would've thought that outsourcing EVERYTHING to make our lives cheaper and easier would be a sound decision for long-term supply-chain security? Only every prepper EVER, LOL

This may become an opportunity to reclaim some manufacturing from the chinese--for the US and the rest of the world.

What the chinese might do in retaliation for lost exports could be problematic: trying to block shipping in the south-china sea? devaluing the yuan to mess with other currencies?

Close the ****ing borders already. This is unreal how incompotent these health officials are. They absolutely need to fire whoever allowed that plane to come back to the U.S.

It's too late for that. We already have cases here. Watch the resident evil movies once its starts spreading there is no stopping it.

You've never going to be able to "close the borders", unless maybe you're fighting the plague and there's a 50 percent mortality rate, or something like that.
If we did, the economy would CRASH. Come to a grinding halt.
We are too dependent on the trade.

You’da thunk, we would at least keep the med supplies homegrown? But, all out PPE is mostly Chinese manufactured. Americans want cheap and now, quality and time have taken the back seat for most. My Avon M50 is a combo of US and Brit manufacture. Not Berry, but I couldn’t source a Berry pro mask for the $$’s I had. If I find one, the -50 goes in the classy’s and I’ll source nothing but Berry products from now on.

So, this makes me question.....was Resident Evil a documentary directed by precog's?

I don't think closing boarders will help. At this point, I think it's already in the US and far, far more have it than the CDC is willing to admit. Limit the pool of people to test and you limit the number of cases that are confirmed.

We know now that people who look and feel perfectly healthy can spread the virus through contact or even on surfaces (it can live on surfaces for close to a week per some studies). And these people can be contagious for 3 weeks or some studies now say more before symptoms finally show.

It could be raging through our population and we wouldn't even know it until March or April. Once people get sick enough to go to the hospital, then it will show. But that could be 3-4 weeks after they contracted the virus.

Really, the only way to protect yourself now is to either live in PPE all day every day from this point on.....OR.....to quit all activities in public places.....work...shopping...social gatherings...religious gatherings...put ourselves in voluntary quarantine.

I myself, as of this writing, think that it is already among us and we don't know who or where it is. It is the invisible enemy and the only way to truly be safe is to stop our lives and hunker down. I'm not willing to do that right now. I do have preps to help with my survival. But I really don't think that you will be able to avoid this forever. It will eventually make it's way to you. Hopefully you survive. Most seem to. Bur for those who don't, I hope they are ready to meet the Creator / God.

I believe that it has been posted on this thread before....

Make sure you tell your loved ones how much they matter...and frequently.
Make sure you are ready for the end, it could happen any time. Disease...car accident...anything could happen any day.
Don't worry as much about stuff...you can't take it with you when you die.
Your legacy with people is what matters. That is what you leave behind. That is what will be remembered and what truly matters.

coronavirus, direct - 132 cases in Italy in 4 regions, 26 hospitalized in intensive care. All schools in Lombardy, Veneto and Piedmont closed, Venice Carnival canceled and 4 Serie A matches

    https://translate.google.com/transl...Social&utm_source=Facebook#Echobox=1582447950

Right at 20% in the ICU,in 48 hours since they started confirming new cases(they had 2 cases Chinese tourists over 3 weeks ago now).

Carnival is closed(cancelling all remaining events starting Saturday at midnight). No public gatherings of any kind, even churches are closed.

132 cases confirmed now. 130 of those in the last 48 hours.
Travel out of an infected city will get you arrested.Trying to travel into an infected city will get you arrested.

closing ofshops and museums , competitions , private working activities and publicoffices , without prejudice to essentialservices.

In short drug stores and supermarkets are the only business activity now.

Lots more like the gates erected at every road ect..

Armed forces and police forces have been mobilized to form an insurmountable "health belt" around contagion areas. Roadblock violators risk up to a 3 months prison sentence.

“The coming few days will be a critical time for us,” he said at an emergency meeting of government officials to discuss the outbreak, which in just days has spiraled to 602 confirmed infections and six deaths. “The central government, local governments, health officials and medical personnel and the entire people must wage an all-out, concerted response to the problem.”

Macau has new cases(they had been 14 days without a case, and reopened the casinos 4 days ago).Looks like 4 new in the last 24 hours.

Australia up to 23 cases now.Not sure why they think one must have traveled to China still(as reported on the link below). The last 7 cases
came from the Diamond Princess cruise ship.

China has changed how they report cases 4 times in the last week alone.I will post the numbers, but we are not seeing the reality there.
[h=3]China - 77,042[/h]As of February 22, a total of 76,963 people in mainland China were confirmed as having been infected with the virus, most of them in the central province of Hubei. At least 2,345 people have died, China's national health commission said.
