How To Kill Coronaviruses on surfaces

Finally some researchers are trying to figure out what to do to decrease spread by surface contact.
They reviewed coronaviruses (including SARS) in this paper. Some of them can remain infectious for up to 9 days!

These are the solutions that did the best at killing off Corona viruses at 1 minute:
62% - 71% ethanol, 0.5% hydrogen peroxide or 0.1% sodium hypochlorite ( = bleach 1:50)

Now all we have to do is wait for someone to study these agents against the COVID-19 agent itself.
Are you stocked up on alcohol & bleach? See article for other agents tested.

Well, I have a gallon of bleach, but I do need to pick up some more beer and Jagermeister at the grocery today.

I have some shocking news.Covid-19
may actually sterilize many of the the males infected.Even the young that do not get very ill from it.

The protein and mRNA expression of ACE2 in the testes is almost the highest in the body. Moreover, both cells inseminiferous ducts and Leydig cells showed high ACE2 expression level. These results indicate that testicular cells are the potential targets of 2019-nCoV."
"due to the potential pathogenicity of the virus to testicular tissues, clinicians should pay attention to the risk of testicular lesions in patients during hospitalization and later clinical follow-up, especially the assessment and appropriate intervention in young patients' fertility"

kinda makes ya wonder if this was intentional, given the rumors of it being a bio weapon.

just like some pest poisons, it doesn’t just kill the organism but prevents it from breeding, so even if you don’t kill them all you still win the long game.

Currently the coronavirus death rate is actually close to 18%. How it is being reported is incorrect. The media is using the number of deaths divided by the number infected. However, that excludes the currently infected people who have not yet died.

So the real equation needs to be the number of deaths/ # deaths + #of those who have recovered. That number equals 18%.

Another quirk is that the corona virus is killing more Asian men than women and more Asians than non-Asians per infection. virus attacks through the ACE2 (angiotensin-converting enzyme-2) which plays a role in lung constriction. There is no known sex or race based differences in ACE2 gene expression. However, there is a well known correlation between ACE2 gene expression and smoking.

Asians, especially Chinese men smoke - A LOT.

Smoking in China is overwhelmingly a male habit. At least two-thirds of all Chinese men (68%) smoke at least occasionally, and roughly half (49%) are regular smokers. In contrast, only 6% of women smoke regularly (3%) or occasionally (3%).

did a coronavirus write this

EQ1cebEXsAI9N1g

Seriously?
How can anyone even think like this?

They need to be stopped.

Not even the CDC or WHO have taken this stance publicly...not sure about privately given the situation in Cambodia.
Everyone see the videos of the Cambodian prime minister shaking passengers hands as they left the ship, and giving them flowers?
Well 144 when to Malaysia and one has already tested positive.

I may stop posting about coronavirus.
I think it is way beyond to late for much to be done but to protect yourself and your family as best you can.
Every government is failing. We will see the effect soon enough, and it will be bad.
Idiots like Robin Hanson will only make it worse.

Already covered.

Simple. The CDC does not develop drugs. This is good news, but it really doesn't mean much at this point. They have a chemical model that might work. They don't know how to make it yet. It hasn't been tested in vitro (in a lab) against coronovirus. It hasn't been tested in vivo (in an animal). It hasn't been tested for effectiveness and safety. They need to identify dosages, treatment protocols and side effects. They need to figure out how to scale it up to manufacturing volume and then implement it. There are international regulatory hurdles to deal with. Etc, etc.

Bottom line, it is good news, but it definitely is not guaranteed to be successful and is long, long way from actual implementation.
