Steven Charles Wood, a law student at Oxford Brookes University in England, recorded his virgin voyage into a U.S. gun shop, expressing his sheer shock at the rows and rows of guns and ammunition available to “any customer.”​

Well, not "any customer". You have to fill in a form, asserting you are a proper person, and go through a background check. But yes. Buying guns with relatively easy access should be a normal thing that free people can do. If he thinks that's not normal, perhaps he needs to check his liberty.
