OK, for such a story that definitely has truth to it. Not very long ago, another driver I work with had to deal with his son getting suspended over someone else posting a picture of him on FacePalm that involved a gun. I didn't see the picture, but I have been given to understand that the entire episode was completely asinine. Oh, and this was in Spencer, not Bloomington or the Chicago spillover area.

As a counter to Alfie Evans story in the UK...

Boy regains consciousness after parents sign papers to donate his organs

A 13-year-old boy who suffered severe brain trauma in an accident regained consciousness after his parents signed paperwork to donate his organs. Trenton McKinley of Mobile, Alabama, suffered the injury two months ago when a small utility trailer he was riding flipped over.

"I hit the concrete, and the trailer landed on top of my head. After that, I don't remember anything," he told WALA-TV.

He suffered seven skull fractures in the accident, and his parents were told that Trenton would never be the same.

His mother, Jennifer Reindl, said she signed the papers to donate Trenton's organs because five kids needing transplants were a match.

"A man from the UAB organ donation came and talked to us in the family conference room about donating five organs to UAB children's hospital that would save five other children. We said yes, that also insured that they would continue to keep Trenton alive to clean his organs for the donation," Reindl told CBS News on Sunday.

But just a day before doctors were set to end Trenton's life support, he showed signs of cognition, and now he's slowly going through recovery.

Pretty amazing. Good thing he lives in a country where parents are given the option of keeping him alive for a few more days and giving him a fighting chance.

(Yes I know the Alfie situation is a huge stretch from how this one panned out... I'm just amazed this kid seems to be coming back around, and I'll never miss a chance to **** on the UK.)

I'm glad to hear the kid survived. That's pretty amazing. But it sure sucks for the families of the five kids who were expecting to receive an organ.

Walmart is under fire for making veteran sit outside in rain

I'm a veteran. I support many veteran organizations.
But how is it Wal-Mart's responsibility to keep this guy out of the rain?

And all the people that walked by, and thought it was a shame, saying how they owe veterans "everything", those people couldn't have spend $50 bucks on a canopy to help him?

If your argument in favor of your ideology is "it didn't kill 100 million, only 74 million", you have a **** ideology.

Drugs are involved in almost every one of these situations, making it real hard to go along with a libertarian drug policy.

But drugs would be cheaper and users would have enough money to buy the legal drugs...or at least only have to rent out only one daughter instead of both to afford them.

If I were focusing on economy of resources, including time, I would vote for putting a box of hollow points to use. Going with what I feel, I would be split between impalement and dragging behind a motor vehicle for the offending parties.

I would also add that in a society with minimal government, some reasonable person who may have become aware of this could administer either of the latter two remedies without negative official response.

Holy GLOCK! That photo! Looks like Martin Sheen had a Nick Nolte moment. :n00b:

And those look like burn scars around his neck and upper chest. Someone set his hood on fire?
