The leftists generally embrace nearly all leftist lunatics unless they are absolutely forced to cut them loose.

In all fairness, the scales right now are decidedly tipped one way. I'm not seeing news stories about rabid conservatives running senators and prominent democrat staffers out of restaurants, doxxing senators' kids, blindsiding them, breaking ribs...or even opening fire at democrat softball teams. Are there "right wing" idiots out there? Without a doubt. But republicans are not imploring their followers to get all up in their political enemies' faces. The democrats own this right now.
