I've heard of many people who own several guns (Tom Brokaw for one) who I don't consider pro 2nd A.

I just see a difference between a recent workaround (bumpstock) and substantial things (every other thing about guns).

Trying to substantially limit how many guns you're allowed to own is a hill I'd die on. Trying to ban a modern invention that skirts already in-place laws, however... eh, not sure I give that many inches of value.

    I round up.

I don’t believe the NFA will ever be done away with. We may see suppressors, SBS, SBR, AOW, DD removed but there are too many wealthy and influential people heavily invested in machine guns to ever allow those investments to disappear.

    Lmao! This thread is comical.

A man just used a bump stock to mimic full auto fire, and y’all are in here talking about repealing the NFA. More power to yah, but typically mass shootings don’t do anything to make people want to loosen gun laws

I don't disagree generally but eliminating the NFA requirements would have little effect on prices. Unless the 1986 ban on manufacturing was eliminated also.

Vegas hotels already considering additional security, including metal detectors, barricades and bag inspections per WTHR just now.

Blowing smoke to satiate the TV reporters. Once all the media see a few shows and spend their comped casino chips and leave town it will be back to business as usual in Vegas, Making Money! The hotels will do nothing to slow people entering their casinos to spend money. Folks standing in line to get scanned and groped aren't at the tables and slots losing money. And if the line is to long they will walk next door.

Could the motivation/ being kept quite for the reason of raids on others?

If they couldn't keep the headshot photo from being leaked to the press they would not be able to keep something that exciting quiet.

I am glad ATF gets an alert if you purchase multiple handguns. I bet it has stopped many a mass shooting and crime!

CBS news couldn't get over you can buy unlimited long guns but ATF was alerted if you purchase multiple handguns.

Las Vegas shooter may have been casing Chance the Rapper and Lorde concert - ABC News

The word "may" is key to this one. He may have just been in the area?
His level of planning may have included a dry run?

While the authorities have recovered 47 firearms from the hotel room and his two properties, with the earliest recorded purchase in 1982, however the bulk, 33, were purchased in the past year. Just speculation, but I believe that we will find that most/all of the semi-auto rifles and bump-stocks (12) were purchased in the past year. Combine that with his recent purchasing patterns, buying a shotgun and an AR here, then rinse-repeat at a different gun store, an AR and a handgun. Carefully "masking" his purchases in a way that shows an almost paranoid caution.

Sending his girlfriend out of the country well prior to the atrocity, most likely to protect her and give her deniability, and wiring her money.

IMO, all of this adds up to months of planning... so a planned dry run would fit right into that mentality.

I would only buy that the Chance/Lorde concert was an aborted attempt only if he also sent her out of the country for that time period as well....
