In my opinion, the most impactful thing that could be done to prevent future mass killers would be for the media to go to total blackouts of these killers names.

Stop printing their names, their manifestos, their sad back story, all of it. Stick to reporting on the incident, not the killer. Depriving them of the noteriety they seek would actually make an impact. Of course we know the media would never do it though.

While I'm in total agreement with you I won't get my hopes up. I don't see the media tossing away their bread and butter. They survive on the misery of all.
Once upon a time they were a bit more honest and reported fairly.
Through this power they have they try to sway the thinking of those of weaker mind. Sadly they can succeed to a point.

My mom listens to country because she likes the artists. Goes to concerts, too.

She hates guns, couldn't give less of a **** about politics.

A quick and dirty check only turned up numbers from 2004, where in a survey 60% of country music fans 'leaned' Republican (whatever that means). Some more recent articles implied currently much closer to 50-50 but did not have polling to back it up.

If you read about country music demographics, it does not seem unlikely that a majority still lean Republican

The LVMPD knows the motive behind the attack, but the FBI will not allow us to release the motive because it implicates the FBI in illegal arms deals and supplying arms to ISIS terrorists within U.S. borders.

Stephen Paddock was an undercover FBI agent who participated in multiple illegal arms deals in the Las Vegas area in a gun running entrapment scheme similar to Fast and Furious. Paddock thought he was engaging in another routine arms transfer, but ISIS had learned about the entrapment scheme and Paddock's true identity. They killed him and carried out the massacre, and then fled the scene.

Everything is being kept under extreme wraps because 1) armed ISIS terrorists are still at large and 2) this is very embarrassing to the FBI and they don't want their scheme to become public knowledge.

I will be posting further information throughout the day, people within LVMP are disgusted and are pushing for this information to be released to the public.

I have yet to see any muzzle flash footage. Perhaps I missed it but all the footage I have seen that clearly showed the side of the building showed no muzzle flashes. I wonder if the guy was dead before "he" killed all those people?

Bear in mind low res cell phone footage under these conditions may not show the flashes. They arent necessarily bright enough to contrast against that shiny glass building lit by floodlights. (its hard to see a candle flame in front of a lit light bulb)

You were more likely to see the gaping hole in the broken glass. If he was holed up on a platform away from the window in a darkened room (so he wasnt an easy sniper target except within his narrow FOV), you MIGHT be able to see his flashes. But since he didnt appear to tear down the curtains, his muzzle flashes were likely out the window in front of the shiny glass and not easily visible. (you can see the curtains being sucked out the hole in photos)

Because a semi auto rifle can be fired pretty darn fast with simply a healthy trigger finger. In addition the shot placement would have likely been better. Thus my expectation is a similar amount of injuries/deaths.

And screw accuracy. Whats the MOA of a football field sized target at 500 yards? He didnt need to hit *A* person. He just had to keep the rounds in the box. Helen Keller could almost do that.

It sounds like an unsubstantiated and irrational fear of the unknown. There is not a shred of evidence that this is even a likely outcome. Let's not kid ourselves, you are "registering" yourself with every 4473 you fill out. It only makes it to the ATF when the business shutters. The ATF HAS the information, it's laughable to believe that digitizing the records of defunct businesses could lead to mass confiscation...it's irrational. It's just as irrational as the left's fear of "assault rifles".

Then one can assume you would have no problem complying with the voter fraud commission information requests - you know, last four of social, voting history, military service etc. After all, the government already has that information (just not in a searchable database)

You do realize these hotels have some of the most sophisticated CCTV systems in the world, right? I MIGHT lend some credence to this if it happened outside vegas at a non-casino hotel. But not at a casino.
