Possums are the BEST natural tick predator you can have on your property. They eat thousands of ticks a year. They do no property damage and only help. Why kill it? I would gladly buy cat food for the possums if I could keep them around. Too many get hit here in the country unfortunately.
Well, I'll give you 2 options to keep me from shooting them..1) you send me $32 a month for cat food or 2) you bring live traps over, catch them and take back to your place..

Thought he was safe in View attachment 371131the woodpile. That is about a 20" diameter log so he's full grown.

Got one in the trap sometime yesterday. Neighbor and i started laying a piece of blue tarp over the traps and it is increasing our success rate. I'm not sure if they are curious about it or what. He wraps his live traps in tarp and leaves some loose on the door end. I just drape it over the conibear. Really pushing the limits on these I need to pick up a few bigger traps.

10 and 11. Caught the one eating a peach and popped him from about 75 ish yards.
I also attached a picture of how I’ve been trapping them. Lots of cover with the vegetation they are living in. Then some field corn, peaches and apples from the property.
The neighbor across the fence has been shooting some for us as well bringing the total to 18

Sadly I've got nothing but blood all over and no body. Thinking he either fell into his hole or crawled into it so I know he's dead but won't count it as kill.

Trying my son's new toy (mine until he comes home from Japan ). An Aero Precision AR10 that shoots really good. I was 30 yards away so I probably hit the groundhog a little low.
