I did do a bit of touching-up, but I did clean the weapon decently before hand.

Most of what I touched up was little specks of my cloth that I used to wipe the excess oil off the outside after I gave it a nice even coat to shine it up a bit .

Thanks I traded a WASR-10 for it at the local pawn shop the 1911 is brand new. I think I got a deal.

Curious as to everyone's opinion of STI brand 1911's. I took a chance on one last year (the Spartan model) and theres been no looking back. Granted I would love a Colt or a Remington, but how many of us ever reach the holy grail?

I wouldn't mind having one, would make a great home defense weapon imho.

I got my 1911 because of how thin it is, which makes it easier for me to conceal. A double-stack in .45 even with thin grips would be too much for me to easily conceal.
