      Your laughter, combined with the fact that the students were carrying iPhones, is not sufficient evidence that these officers were "heavily armed". They were armed. The students may or may not have been. That does not mean the officers were "heavily armed".

      I agree with this. If I believed the person was serious and would be waiting outside with the intent of harming me I would likely call police. They respond to situations like this routinely, and they are paid to do so. No need to end up in a situation which can easily be avoided.
