I would have to say for the money you can't beat a Virginian Dragoon. I now have 6 of them in varying configurations and they all shoot fine. They are a well built firearm and I have never had one malfunction. I have found them at gun shows here in southern Indiana in the $300 - $350 range.
I'm another in the long list of fans of Whittakers. I appreciate the fact that when they rate an item over the phone they are conservative and very honest with you. It's a 2 1/2 hour trip for me and with my line of work almost impossible to make it there. I have found that developing a...
My suggestion would be an used Marlin model 60 my son and I have picked up 2 of them at gun shows in the past 2 years and haven't paid over $120 for either one of them. They are semi automatic and very accurate. I keep one in my office to shoot out back with and today made a shot at 75 yards...
For the money it's hard to beat the Puma model 92 my son has one in 44 magnum with a 24" barrel and it is very accurate with 240 grain bullets but don't go any heavier. I have a Henry Big Boy I hunt with open sights and it handles the heavier bullets well but I'm told if it didn't shoot well...
There is a dealer who I deal with near New Salisbury, S & J sporting goods 366-4921. Always has 10-12 tables at the local gun shows, good prices, knowledgable, great to deal with.
I bought a Ted Williams 200 in great shape in Salem at a gun show 2 years ago for $160.00 it was as close to new as you could get. When I got home I found out that it was actually a Winchester 1200 and the person selling it probably had no idea what it actually was.
It had an immaculate wood stock. The same promoter has a gun show in Evansville towards the end of the month and one in Salem the first part of January. Possibly the same vendor would be at one of those shows, I failed to get his name myself and now I wish I had. That is the beauty of a gun...
Sorry I haven't been back on but it was at the Seymour show and the scope was removed. The seller was wanting $375 for it and my son and I agreed it was a BDL with a factory bull barrel. I passed on it because of limited funds choosing instead to wait for what I really want a Browning BAR 7 rem mag.
I'm up to six of these dragoons. I'm waiting till Christmas to receive my siloette model in 44 mag. I expect it to be awesome as it was made with a 10 1/2" bull barrel. I am also looking foward to receiving a .357 with a 12" barrel in about 2 weeks. All the ones I have are as good an any...
I was at a gun show and saw an excellent Remington 700 .223 with a bull barrel and it had a property of Indiana label on it and was wondering what department that it was decommisioned from.
Was purchasing ammo today from Georgia Arms and they had a news brief that the DOD was now destroying all .223 and .308 brass. They suggested notifying our lawmakers. Sounds like Obama is on the move.
We need more dealers like you
I was unaware of this and so far haven't found that pile of money. But today I went ot Georgia Arms to buy ammo and they had posted that the DOD now destroys all .223 and 308 brass effective immediately. Sounds like the new administration has begun his program of...
