I would assume faulty primer. Where was the bullet, was it just separated or did it go all the way into the chamber? That info would give me some ideas mate.
Awesome collection! I forget about my semi-autos like SKS's and AK's, as I consider those more "use" then "collect dust" rifles. But an SVT 40, I have been hoping to snag one of those myself, thanks for the reminder mate!
WOW, the store is only on my direct route to shopping/woman's workplace and I pass by there multiple times, sometimes in a day! Glad to know there's a place ALMOST around the corner!
Since moving to Indy from NY, we've been so happy to discover more people like us. Hm, as a former (more like...
Thanks! Loving the reception here. When me and the lady stopped by a local gun shop last week and mentioned to the guy we just moved from NY, he stared right at me and said in an loud voice "WELCOME TO AMERICA GUYS!".
Anyway, I do like mosins, but never got into the Finns. Possibly because i've...
Well, not only is my collection feel smaller, but you are seriously wounding my photography "skills" lol. gorgeous rifles and great pics.
I do have a Gew 88 and 98, in addition to my K98. I'm still waiting to come across an m1872, a G98 karabiner and a G43!
Contemplating getting rid of my...
I love 8mm cartridge. Had some of my best shooting done with a M48 yugo mauser. iron sights and all. Lit up multiple bullseye at 100 yards and very tight groupings. I'm sure the CZ israeli rework would handle nicely as well.
Hm, cant seem to find rolling blocks pics would have to take some. In...
Awwww just ONE? You sir are insane! these are my babies, i can't pick just one!
Ok here's a few of my favotires:
All-matching K98 Mauser, with original sling and bayonet. REALLY all-matching. None of that "mitchell's mickey mausers" nonsense you see these days. Came out of a vet's closet with...
Sort of new here, moved to indy about a month ago, barely had a chance to breathe much less do any fun stuff. So, as we're unpacking I am dragging out all of my old irons and I started thinking. Perhaps I need to other militaria friends in the area!
So, anyone else collect old military rifles...
The greet surplus stuff works very well. As a military rifle collector who, while not a garand fan, has spoken to other old iron guys who have dedicated their lives to them, I would shoot the greek stuff myself without any hesitation.
Buy it! yes they are cheap right now, but that WILL change. Remember when mausers were cheap? Or when Arisakas traded for $20-$30 because there were so many of them?
Heck, buy a full CRATE! For under $500 you can have a crate of rifles and a crate of ammo for them. I regret not buying up...
Honestly, I don't see why so many people hate the Hi-Point995. I've had the older one for years. Bought it after owning much more high end long-barrel platforms and I still enjoy taking it to the range. very accurate, no issues with internals and all-around great home defense carbine. Try it...
I'd buy the entry-level $600-$700 AR and after becoming familiar (and comfortable, you never know, you could hate it!) with the platform and all the components, work on ordering parts to build your own, mate.
