I was able to pick up a few boxex today form the Michigan City wal-mart. Looks the same as the blazer, just a different stamp.
American eagle is still around although it is not as cheap as the Blazer.
I am not a big fan of Taurus, so I would lean towards the Springfield Mil-Spec. It is a step up from the GI version, and the features are worth the little extra you will spend. I believe that if you want to customize your 1911(don't we all) that this is the best "base" out there. here is a link...
I prefer the .44mag. For all around use, hunting, protection, and target shooting, I think its the one to go with. BTW if you want to cut back on recoil for target shooting you can shoot 44special.
I know for a FACT that you can shoot them at Kingsbury fish and wildlife. It is only a 100 yard range though.
I thought you could shoot them at Jasper Pulaski which i believe has a 200 yard range.
