So I can put in a new trigger group in the S&W? I just put in a new McCormick trigger group in my AR - that would be awesome to have the same unit in the .22 - closer and closer to the "same" platform.
Well, you could get an encore rifle and get different barrels. That said, I think that all this boils down to the whole Ford vs Chevy vs Dodge debate. There is nothing "wrong" with any of the 3.
Now.. as far as the flat shooting arguement goes, let me add something. My personal opinion is...
For what it is worth, I do not think any of those things about you at all. You are a decent person that is wise to explore the consequences of actions before they are taken. To me, that makes you a decent person.
The only thing I can share for me is my own thought process that I initiated...
You can just feel the love for GM. It really is a shame. Stores like GM (would Cabela's have ended up the same way in town??) are the main reason I prefer to funnel my business to places like Beach Grove Guns and other independents. I would rather pay a guy I know and respect extra $$ than a...
Good advice on Elmores - I have also been looking for one for a bit, too. Buds has been out for some time. Good luck - please let us know when/where you snag one!
You know, this entire thread impresses me. The willingness to talk and share and meet others is amazing. This is the exact thing that got me interested in this forum in the first place. Good job, gentlemen.
It's funny. Cost was the initial reason I got into reloading (handguns, rifle, and especially shotguns). I used to laugh my guts off at how much I was not spending on ammo. Then I got into how I could really match a load to my gun (specifically rifle). Then I just laughed harder. Now, I...
You are exactly correct in that is not going to win an award for the cleanest powder of all time. But....sometimes you can get some good deals on bigger containers and then you can feed several different guns off of it. Anyway, cleaning a dirty gun is not all bad!
I am glad you are hooked - I am a firm believer that being a reloader makes you a better shooter in the long run. Why? Because most people end up shooting more and learning more. I think you will be amazed at the cost savings over time as well.
Good luck and enjoy!
I am one of the odd ones in that I actually enjoy shooting with Unique - love the smell and the ability to have basically 1 powder for the majority of my reloading (handgun and shotgun). Other powders might be better, but there is certainly nothing "wrong" with Unique.
The best shooting load I...
This was not my experience at Greenwood at all. I brought them the web page from Buds and the manager flatly refused to match it, even when adding shipping to the price. If you have gotten them to do it, you are a far better negotiator than I am - very happy you got them to honor their...
The bottom line is that I feel horrible for your situation.
There are all sorts of stories about Wolf, but probably less of them overall than reload kaboom stories. The one thing to remember is that steel cased ammunition is hardly a new thing - a large number of US .45 ACP steel case ammo...
I think this is a very practical approach and one that is entirely smart. I don't take my jack and spare tire out when I go certain places. so why should we need to take out another appropriate tool like a handgun?
The greatest turkey sighting I ever had was down at Lake Patoka during duck season. We were in my blind boat set up in the water with Tillery Hill behind us. As soon as it got to be daylight, at least 2 dozen turkeys started gliding down from their roost accross the lake, right over our heads...
I have tried on multiple occasions to get GM to match prices. I went and showed them an online 'opportunity' I had and asked if they could make it close. I even offered for their price to include what I would have payed for shipping and the transfer. They just laughed. I know it wasn't...
Biggest disappointment for me was my Kimber TLE. After 2 trips back to the factory for rehab, it still couldn't make it through >4 shots without a jam. Lost all patience and sent it to Wilson for an overhaul. Now, with the exception of the name on the slide, nothing Kimber about it, but WOW...
