      .380 Mouse Gun...Or Powerful Stopper?

Hahaha you're welcome sir. You're welcome. ....now the next step is to move you into a bigger platform. :D

Small size vs. Capacity for CC

Yeah against a dedicated opponent you are probably quite right. The thing is those stats also include bad guys who ***** out, give up, and die after a single hit to the torso Which is why FS teaches their students to train head shots if the chest doesn't work.

Small size vs. Capacity for CC

I'd have to bust it out when I get home. The numbers come from Front Sight's "what you really face" lecture. I can't remember all of their sources. The lecture falls in line with what I've seen in my criminal encounters, my friends, and my experiences in the ER....and it uses my favorite...

      .380 Mouse Gun...Or Powerful Stopper?

YES!!! I convinced a .380 user to move up to a 9mm!!!!!!!!! My words haven't fallen upon deaf ears!! :rockwoot: :rockwoot: :rockwoot: :rockwoot: That's what I'm choosing to take away from that paragraph. :)

Small size vs. Capacity for CC

Honestly, it's intellectually dishonest to say "I recognize that the world has lots of violent people in it, thus I am going to carry a gun to protect myself."...but then turn around and say "But I'm not going to carry a gun with the neccessary performance or capacity to solve the average...

Would you be interested in fully automatic if the price was the same?

      I'm sorry.....I don't understand the question.......?????

      XDM45 vs. 1911

If you're looking for reliability, the XDM is the route to go. This is coming from a guy who just switched from the XD to the 1911 / M&P. Then again the 1911, when selected well, is reliable enough for CC purposes. Just make sure you buy a good one (which will be quite a bit more expensive) and...

      115gr vs 147gr in 9mm

Are you 110% sure? The M&P has a really crappy trigger. I had to ligthen mine because I couldn't stand it. Have another competent shooter (besides yourself) shoot the gun and see where it is landing. Also, lighten the trigger anyway. You'll be happier with the result.

Don't overlook full-size pistols for concealed carry

Fact! Seriously guys. Heart disease is more likely to kill you than a criminal. (especially if you carry and train) Thus, please follow FirebirdDS lead if you're over weight. Agreed. Barrel length doesn't have much to do with it. I have no issues concealing a 5" government model 1911 or...

      Caught in the Rain- 1911

lol Been there done that. For some reason that didn't bother me, but this did. Probably because both guns are brand new.

      Caught in the Rain- 1911

lol Thanks guys. I knew that in my head. But here's the deal. For safety and security, I use OCD level routine and habits to care for and handle firearms. In my brain I know it's fine. I just needed your reassurance. I mean they did get really wet. They're drying off after their...

      Caught in the Rain- 1911

So my pal Blueboxer and I got caught out in the rain with our beloved 1911s and my M&P 9mm. My 1911 prob got exposed to 5 minutes or so of heavy down pour, mostly while in my hand. My M&P was sitting on the table in slide lock. We both were soaked enough we had to change clothes. I got...

Several questions from a CC newb

Mom, why don't you want me, your son, to be protected? I'll let you figure it out from there. I highly recommend NOT doing that. Whenever you buy a gun, you have to remember the mission of the gun. This is a carry gun. You need two things out of a carry gun and two things only. 1- It goes...

      XDm or G19?

I honestly think that is largely a myth. I've heard of Glocks failing by limp wristing the gun. I've never actually seen or known anyone failing to have their XD go bang. I shot and carried the whole series of XDs for a while, and never had a problem. The only way I can think of it not...

      New M&P Owner Question

I believe RobbyMaq replaced the sear with the apex and the only spring he left stock was the trigger spring.

      History Lesson Please

Mr. Freeman beat me to it. He has it exactly right. :yesway: Freedom, must be freedom for all. Not even "undesirables" can be allowed to be chained, or else the government will add links to the chains yard by yard until not only are they enslaved, but also you.

Shoot to thrill or shoot to kill?

"If an injury has to be done to a man it should be so severe that his vengeance need not be feared." -Niccolo Machiavelli This has applications to politics, war, the company boardroom, and self defense. If you shoot a guy in the leg/arm/shoulder, his mind is going to dump adrenaline into his...

For LEO'S in home defence shooting, do they take the gun or all your guns?

That disgusts me. In what world are they justified in taking the guns that were in your locked safe during the fight? What happens when the criminal's gang banger buddies decide they want revenge for popping Chino's little brother? Are you to be left defenseless? Even taking the gun you used...

      New M&P Owner Question

Yeah I was on their website a little while ago. RobbyMaQ PMed me with the answer. Apparently if you use the apex duty kit, but leave the stock trigger spring in, the trigger will drop to about 4.5ish lbs. That is precisely what I'm looking for, as it seems to be my sweet spot for the...

      New M&P Owner Question

So I love my M&P 9mm. She's great......but she also needs a new trigger. I'm too much of a trigger snob to let that go. So here's my issue. I want a trigger that is below 5lbs but not below 4 lbs. All of the trigger kits I have seen either run the gun at 5-5.5lbs or are something crazy...
