In general the 1911 platform is my favorite 45 acp pistol.

Breaking it down further my favorite has been my Dan Wesson Valor. It's just the right mix of updated features without all the stuff I consider unnecessary. I've read really good things about the FN 45 pistols and plan on picking one up this summer. Maybe I'll have a new favorite.

I would have to say my Colt Gunsite model - it's not all related to the Gunsite logo - the gun just seems to hit where I point it. The picture isn't my actual gun I'm away from my photo library tonight.

Speaking only from limited experience, my favorite 45 is the one on my side ...a G30sf. I've shot the G21 as well, but prefer the size of its little brother.

I own several 45's, I really like Colt 1911 Govt. models, mainly because they are a proven weapon, they feel good, they shoot good, they are reliable and the list of good things could go on, but I recently aquired a S&W M&P 45, I really like the way this gun feels in my hand, I haven't got to put it through it's paces, but I think it is a reasonable priced option in the 45 market. I'm not saying the M&P is my favorite, but I like it alot.

From my limited experience with 45's my favorite ones that I fired were the Glock 21SF, H&K USP 45, and I guess old slab sides isn't to bad either.:patriot:

I would have to say my S&W 4516. All stainless. Little heavy, but shoots so nice and actually carries very good for me.

I had a 4516 last year.. it carried really nice despite the weight.. but whenever I tried to shoot it at the range.. it shot way to low for me. Also I couldn't get used to the muzzle jump.
