You guys must have some crappy Walmarts..

The Walmart in Valpo sells me ammo anytime I want, they have never said a word about OC, they actually have helpful employees.

I my not like all their business practices but the Walmart in Valpo has a customer just purely from the level of service I receive there.

I emailed the Attorney Generals office about not selling ammo from 2200-0700.
Here is their reply.I will email the ISP as directed.
I was told the same thing in Terre Haute.
Here is a copy of the email I sent.

Thank you for your email. Boy, this is a new one. I do not know, please contact the Indiana State Police as they issue the gun permits.

I was told that it was against Indiana Law to sell ammunition between the hours of
2200-0700.Is that true?Or was the person pulling my leg?

    Over by the lake.
Please, do post the response of that email.

I occasionally buy ammo at the Mart, mostly because you can't rely on the couple of shops around here to have anything. Heck, there wasn't one Large Rifle Primer in stock in this whole town a couple of weeks ago!!! The Mart here is pretty lenient on things. In the 09 shortage, a fella there rang me out 6 boxes of WWB without battin an eye.

The Merrillville/Hobart Chinamart has the same rule of no ammo sales after 10pm. I usually only go there late at night and was pretty bummed when I heard that stupid rule. They also claimed it was state law. The Meijer in the same town does not seem to have any such rule.

Below is the email I got from The Indiana State Police about this so called law.
Now I have heard the same thing from the Attorney General and the State Police
They do not know of any such law.The ISP suggested contacting BATFE.
I am doing so.When I get a response I will post it here.

There is no Indiana State law that prohibits sales in the late night hours. You may contact the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives for further information.

Don't people say something like... if you ask the ATF a question, something bad happens? Like new "interpretations" of laws get created out of thin air and junk like that? Generally a bad thing to do.

I had the same issue regarding "sales after 10 p.m." at the Wal-Mart on Veteran's Parkway. I knew there wasn't a law regarding that precise issue. Oh well, online purchases of ammo, here I come.

As was suggested, tell the sales person that there is no state law and no Walmart policy as to not selling ammo after 10:00 p.m., but that you will be contacting Bentonville with an inquiry and a complaint against the sales asscoiate and store manager.

Bet they find the keys and sell you the ammo. complaints DO affect the store managers evaluation.

I've been told that before from Wally World too. When walmarts sold guns, I was told you could buy the gun or the ammo but not both on the same day. Morons.

edit, I also have purchased a rifle from the muncie west wally world and ammo at the same time, the guy didn't even mind me open carrying, they still "escorted" me to the door with the rifle
