Kinda off topic, but how many acres would one need to shoot a 50 BMG at 1000 yards?

That depends on your definition of an acre. If an acre is simply 4,840 square yards, then a strip of land 4.8 yards wide and 1000 yards long would be one acre.

If the land was 48.4 yards in width (about 145 feet), then a strip this wide and ten acres long would be 1000 yards.

An acre is defined by statue as 660x66 feet, so 5 acres, end to end, would give you plenty of room.

In other good news, the state building permits have been cleared so now we are just waiting on the city of Indianapolis permits. Other things that can be done are being done, but the obvious improvements will start when those are approved.

There are a lot of happy people on the south side eagerly waiting and watching progress. The range will be a huge improvement over the competitors.... and the rates can only be an improvement as well. The HK samples for rentals are just icing on the cake! BGF are doing a great thing for the gun owning community. Keep up the awesome work.

Yes finally some construction/progress to report. The demolition currently underway was actually suppose to be done in phase III of this project but due to engineer concerns we decided to push it to phase I. Currently we are still waiting for our final approval from the city of Indianapolis to be issued our building permit. I guess good things come to those that wait or least thats what people keep telling me. Thanks Greg...
