Just an observation. I find it interesting that many of the people (motor vehicle drivers) complaining about inconsiderate cyclists also complain about inconsiderate motor vehicle drivers. Why are cyclists unable to do the same about their own group?
That's not the conclusion I draw from that datum. It's that, for people who can't seem to get along with anybody else, what are the chances that everybody else is the problem?

unfortunately no one is going to be persuaded to change their opinion.
I don't think this thread is an attempt to change anyones opinion, I think it is revenge porn for the poor oppressed vehicle drivers who are robbed of precious seconds by those evil cyclists daring to show themselves on the roads

Expecting the call for 'common sense cycling restrictions' in 3 ... 2 ... 1

I think it was started, because of a picture in the funny picture thread.

Because people get tired of the "fringe" cyclists that "own" the roads.

Since then, it has veered all over, from both sides.

We've had threads about car drivers.
Why not restart one of them?
    Or make a new thread?
Pretty sure.. most of the people would have stuff to say about the bad car drivers also.

People passing in the breakdown lane
People zipping ahead, knowing their lane ends, but just passing everyone, then expecting to get let in.
    People on cell phones
    People drunk/buzzed.
People zooming across multiple lanes because they don't want to miss their exit.
People driving distracted. Reading a book. Applying make up. etc
    People "brake checking".

    And so on

I don't need to try all manners of perversion/cycling so I can empathize with perverts/cyclists.

Lulz. Check out the 'first motorcycle' thread. Plenty of people, including me, who say they quit riding a motorcycle because of the dangers of the road, like distracted drivers in dense traffic. Meanwhile, you and IngoMike are the very definition of 'can't get along with anybody else' in this thread, everyone is expected to conform to your ideas. Or they are just a jealous fatty, right?

Lots of people said that. After they observed the behavior described in the post you quoted.
I have criticized several cyclist in this thread. So have the other riders. That is just untrue. Like I said you guys sound just like the anti-gunners, use the same type of language…

Never had any anti gunners hold me up while I'm driving, they tend to be on the sidewalks, national mall or the parks. So with that I've never rolled coal on a group of anti-gunners.
I can't say the same with cyclist.

On a more serious note, if anybody wants to ban cyclists from immigrating, marrying, be disallowed equal access to the 2nd amendment, let me know. Until then, I've given your post all the serious consideration it deserves. Like I've said repeatedly, I actually didn't have strong feelings on cyclists until this thread, then the cyclists radicalized me.
After my latest foray into this fiasco I find myself with the same opinion. I was willing to listen to sensible points of view on the subject but the complete "my way or the highway", no pun intended, attitude exhibited by some here has cemented my thoughts on the subject. It's not possible for me to be flexible with the inflexible.
PS the pink Tutu is a definite no.. I'll continue to ponder the meaning of life and when I've come to a conclusion on that I'll consider the Tutu.

"Man's got to know his limitations"

You should probably try reading the thread

All I see as proposed solutions is:
    Don't ride on busy roads

    Don't ride on country roads

NEVER ride two up, even if first at the light. Car people should be allowed to come up alongside you to get a jump on the light - you know, the same thing they whinge about if bicycles do it

Pull over as soon as a couple of cars get behind you, even if they make no effort to use the legal methods to get around

Roads are built for cars, you're just here on sufferance

"Get off the streets!" (Nod to The Clash)

Somehow, from where I sit, it doesn't seem like the cyclists are the ones who believe
"everyone is expected to conform to your ideas"
