Seeing all these beauties is really making me want to buy my first revolver. Any recommendations for a carry .357? I've been looking at a 686 or 686 Plus with a 3" barrel.
My father bought a TALO 686+ with a 3" barrel and it's a fine weapon. Its size and weight really tame the Magnum recoil, and it's not too large or too heavy to carry. He uses a Galco Summer Comfort to carry it from time to time. He loves the trigger, and feels the 3" barrel offers a sight edge in velocity over the 2.5" and points/balances a little more naturally.
I really enjoy shooting my 2.5" model 19, but I definitely feel the recoil more in a K frame. It's not unpleasant, just more pronounced. Both are superbly accurate, but the slightly larger 686 does wonders to tame recoil in Magnum loads. They feel like .38+P loads.
If you pick up a 3" 686 and hate it, I'll take it off your hands
I like the 3 newer relolvers. My favorite is the snub top left. Smith 325 PD?
yes a S&W 325PD....
I'm torn between the 686 and the Ruger GP100
