wanna talk about "minority", my EDC is 10mm launched from a S&W 1066. In the summer and at home it is Double Tap 135gr. @ 1600 fps (less penetration),..in the winter it is Double Tap 200gr. @ 1250 fps, and in the woods it is Double Tap 200gr. hardcast lead @ 1300 fps for the occasional bear or Sherman tank

I use Hornady 185gr Critical Defense "loaded with Patented FTX". Anyone have an opinion on these? They have rubber "stabilizers" in the center of the bullet.

Most of the time, a G27 in .40 with 180gr Speer GoldDot HP ammo though when I get an itch to switch, a G30 in 45ACP with 230gr Speer GoldDot HP. Both have a 10 +1 capacity with a 13rnd spare mag. Used to carry a Taurus 709 slim in 9mm, though prefer the ballistics of the .40 & 45ACP.

Keeping track for my own curiosity, including my post, the five most popular choices are
    9mm: 29
    45ACP: 25
    40S&W: 18
    380: 8
    38: 6
Multiple calibers were counted separately (ie. a poster who sometimes carries a 9mm and sometimes a .40 would have each caliber counted) "used to carry" and "would like to carry someday" weren't counted.

Though, it's still a small sample size, I was somewhat surprised that the 45ACP was nearly as popular as the 9mm. I was also somewhat surprised that the 9mm didn't have a larger lead. I also thought the 40S&W would be a bit more popular. It'll be interesting to see if the ratio plays out as more people contribute.

Though I don't carry every day, when I do, I have 9x18mm hollowpoints. Not the best, but the only handgun I own that isn't chambered in 9x18mm is my 1895 Nagant revolver, so yes, 9x18mm it is for me. With more funds, I would probably go for a subcompact 9x19mm.
