A Carmel kid going to college down there, was reported to LPD as a missing person. They refused to take the report because the kid's permanent address was "out of jurisdiction." They ****** around a few days until the media got ahold of it. Kid was murdered in Louisville, dumped in a landfill, body never recovered.

Wow, that's pretty damn tragic. So, if I am a victim of a crime in Louisville I am on my own. Nice to know...

If it was their policy I'll bet it's not anymore. They learned the hard way that a missing person coming from another jurisdiction can end up being a murder victim in THEIR jurisdiction. Having lived in Louisville and working there for several years I'd rate LMPD 3/5.

I've never had a single interaction with LMPD. I assume 3/5 is an average rating and not indicative of a poor grading?

My limited experience being mostly what I hear on the news and a couple of average kinds of interactions, yes. Pretty average. I do like that they mostly let traffic on I-64 go.
