The idea is not to "get my 50", it's to become part of a community, discuss, joke around, add some content....then after you have been around for a while and "naturally" acquired at least 50 posts, by that time, hopefully, you have been here long enough that people recognize your username and you are known by the community.

50 is an arbitrary number, certainly, but the ethos behind it is, well, ethos.

The relentless race to 50 as soon as you join just strikes some people as off-putting because what it can be perceived as is "I don't care about community. I don't care about contributing. I don't care about being a true 'member'. What I really want is a deal on something in the classifieds." The idea of doing the bare minimum to comply with the rules to get yours and go, doesn't make people want to give the benefit of the doubt. Now, you may be here for the long haul and have every intention of being a contributing member of the community, it just doesn't look that way when you come on the forum, announce, several times, that you want to get your 50, create a few threads specifically for that purpose and get miffed when people call you on it.

I hope you are a long-term member and we can look forward to interacting about guns over time, but maybe the Hillary Clinton relationship "Reset" button is in order.

The majority of anything I buy is from folks or companies I've been dealing with a really long time. So to rush a bunch posts just to deal with a bunch of strangers seems pointless to me, of course I'm paranoid lol. I agree with the 50 rule and for the expectation of quality in them...how ya ever get to know someone without good communication? Integrity's everything, here under the sun IMO

I don't know why people are coming after you like this. I mean they're treating you like, oh, as a totally random example, the type of guy who would have a negligent discharge of a AR in the parking lot of your employer.

Oh god... did that sns guy do that?!

I dont own an AR but ive been tossing around the idea of picking up a stripped lower and parts kit for the fun and get into it
