So it's official - Running your DL now brings up the fact that you have a LTCH?
Correct.

Really? I often wonder how you guys come up with this stuff.
Exactly. And they think I am joking on the 4-cell Maglite comment earlier...
Resisting and obstruction for $100 Alex. Not saying they would eventually stick but just sayin'
I dont offer or consent to anything, most of time they dont want to see permit because if your rights are suspended they dont take the permit,so it dont really prove anything.
Yes. Quite childish and accomplishes nothing and is probably offensive to an officer that is not doing anything illegal. If some rogue officer is brazen enough to illegally search then he is probably bold enough to take your keys. Where do people come up with these off the wall ideas?
Locking the door as you exit your car will only cause more termoil than what it's worth. Some officers will call for a K9 to do a drug sniff to give them probable cause to search. Others could go into "game-on" mode and call a hook for the vehicle being a traffic hazard. I bet some (depending on circumstances) could probably articulate a good case for obstupting traffic which never ends well for the driver or his vehicle. In most cases, I don't agree with these reactions but it's important to know what you could be getting yourself into before it happens.
Please explain how telling an LEO that I am armed makes them or myself safer?
Everything else considered like if the person that was being pulled over was polite and not a problem then why should this be a determining factor as to whether a citation is issued or not?Uh, because bad guys don't typically volunteer that information.
I respect the right of people not to inform, BUT for me personally, if a person informs me, short of him almost running down a grandma, I will never cite.

I certainly cut breaks to people that are polite or not a problem. I am however, very very appreciative of a guy who is upfront about having a firearm. In effect, he's telling me that he isn't out to harm me. But the two go hand in hand. I've never had a person inform me that wasn't polite.
But according to your previous post you say that you respect the fact that people have a right not to inform but then you state that all things considered if they do inform that they would have a better chance of getting off without a citation which suggests if they do not inform and you find out on your own then that will factor into your decision to cite therefore potentionally penalizing a lawfully carrying citizen that by your own admission has the right not to inform.I certainly cut breaks to people that are polite or not a problem. actually yes.. The cop in Indianapolis thought it was probable cause, that i was acting suspicious.. so the K9s came etc.. No ticket no nothing.. Just 1-2 hours of my life wasted.Has anyone ever actually done this?
Indiana is not one of the states that require you to inform the LEO about being armed. Some states do, but I would let them know if I were asked by them. Just what I would do.Going to be getting my LTCH and I'm concerned about the following scenario.
So, you have your LTCH in your wallet and your pistol in your purse...and you're going too fast so the officer pulls you over for speeding.
Do officers usually ask you if you are carrying a weapon?
If they ask, do you have to acknowledge it, or can you just show them your drivers license with the LTCH and not say anything else?
Thanks!
