I havent seen any rules violations here.

edit: and the mods are always watching.

Congrats on your new gig as a mod here....uh...wait...WTH!

pardon me but who put you in charge? i dont see mod by your name . no rules were broken so beat it

Guys seriously. I copied and pasted a post from Scutter01, a moderator, posted to this board on 11-09-2008. At no time did I tell anyone what to do or not do. I am not in charge, nor do I profess to be in charge, and wouldn't want to be for all the tea in China. So please chill.

Thoughts and prayers to the victims and families of this tragedy. It doesn't matter if they're citizens, non-citizens, judges, or lawmakers. They ARE all innocent victims of a senseless, violent act.

    Just so we're clear:

ANY post suggesting or advocating civil war, inciting violence against the government or any other similar post will not be tolerated and will be summarily deleted. This forum is presented (for free) to the members of this board and the owner has asked that posts of that nature not be made.

This board is dedicated to guns and gun-related issues, and NOT as Ground Zero for the Revolution. This issue is now closed for discussion.

I'm glad he posted it, because if he hadn't I would have. Anyone can quote the rules here and anyone can feel free to report posts outside of those rules. Those rules are there for a reason: We, the staff here, and Fenway, the owner of the site, do not play around when it comes to these things because the guys with letters in bright yellow on the backs of their jackets certainly don't. There have been disciplinary actions in this thread already. There may yet be more.

You (and I mean the collective "you") should be grateful that someone posted that reminder. When it comes to revolution talk, I don't do "reminders" :twocents: Now drop it and get back on topic. :mods:

What he said. Discuss this idiotic nimrod that's in police custody in Arizona all you like. Discuss the possible ramifications of his actions... hell, discuss who put him up to it, because that line of thinking's been around since at least 1963 with discussion of a grassy knoll and a shot or several from a book depository.

But discussion involving violent action against this country's government was not, is not, and will not be acceptable, tolerated, or allowed to remain on this site. Nor will those partaking in it.

    Blessings,
    Bill

all this will do will make it harder to reach some elected officials and a growth in gov security for those who are elected.

they have no security to speak of, unless they are in a position of leadership in succession to the presidency. they can be given it in extreme circumstances or pay for it themselves if they wish..

I was with a former VP at a fundraiser, and all he had was a FORMER state trooper who was just doing a friend a favor by driving him around. or maybe the friend was doing him the favor?

been with many current congressmen and some senators. no security. I even picked up one congressman from the airport myself and gave him a ride. i remember thinking myself how stupid it was that we dont better protect our elected officials.

I am sure this will stir some up, but....

The President made a statement right away, how long did it take the President to make a statement after the Ft Hood shooting?

Guess your position in the food chain dictates the urgency of a show of concern huh?

Ranger, you never told me you picked up Pelosi. I am sure you two had some quality discussion and reached common ground on the government:):

I've met with several Congressman and Senators over the years, some in public, some in offices and some in DC. I was shocked at how little protection they have.

When I was sparing with Brad E last year, I even told him he needs to have better protection.

i dont think the judge was the target. I think the congresswoman was. the reason is from a quote I read from one of her volunteers from the even who said that the gunman had came up and asked to speak with the congresswoman. the volunteer told the gunman (unknown then) to get in line. then the man walked up later directly and shot her in the head. while it doesnt give us the order in which the victims were shot, it does let us know he specifically asked to speak with her. most judges i have met are boring to talk too, and wouldnt have posted publicly they will be at such and such place, etc. Unless they are a conceited supreme court justice (rolls eyes.)

Nope. He was just passing through and stopped to "show the flag," so to speak.

"My understanding is he just went to the Safeway to do some shopping ... and he just stopped to chat and say hi, " C.J. Karamargin, Giffords communications director, told Fox News.

Lee Hamilton spoke at the high school here quite a few years back, there were maybe 15 people in the room, and he stood around and shot the **** for an hour or so after his speech. There was no security there at all. He was alone. He was a really nice guy, too.

They had an interview on CNN with a guy who was in a store? next door and came out and helped hold down the gunman. He was armed, but didn't pull his gun because the shooter's gun had already been taken by the time he got there to help.
