Why does it have to be a Jewish group? Many of the groups that persecuted Jews simply used the 6 pointed star, in a variety of differing looks. Surely you don't that it didnt imply "Jews" and was just for decoration. And then, in this case, there's the unfortunate fact that this graphic appeared on an anti-Semitic discussion board TEN days prior to Trump's Twitter posting.

The Star of David | Jewish Virtual Library

"The Magen David (shield of David, or as it is more commonly known, the Star of David) is the symbol most commonly associated with Judaism today, but it is actually a relatively new Jewish symbol. It is supposed to represent the shape of King David's shield (or perhaps the emblem on it), but there is really no support for that claim in any early rabbinic literature. In fact, the symbol is so rare in early Jewish literature and artwork that art dealers suspect forgery if they find the symbol in early works."

Back and fill should be obvious by inspection

    HISTORY OF THE SWASTIKA

The swastika has an extensive history. It was used at least 5,000 years before Adolf Hitler designed the Nazi flag. The word swastika comes from the Sanskrit svastika, which means “good fortune” or “well-being." The motif (a hooked cross) appears to have first been used in Neolithic Eurasia, perhaps representing the movement of the sun through the sky. To this day it is a sacred symbol in Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Odinism. It is a common sight on temples or houses in India or Indonesia. Swastikas also have an ancient history in Europe, appearing on artifacts from pre-Christian European cultures.

The symbol experienced a resurgence in the late nineteenth century, following extensive archeological work such as that of the famous archeologist Heinrich Schliemann. Schliemann discovered the hooked cross on the site of ancient Troy. He connected it with similar shapes found on pottery in Germany and speculated that it was a “significant religious symbol of our remote ancestors.”

In the beginning of the twentieth century the swastika was widely used in Europe. It had numerous meanings, the most common being a symbol of good luck and auspiciousness. However, the work of Schliemann soon was taken up by völkisch movements, for whom the swastika was a symbol of “Aryan identity” and German nationalist pride

Sometimes symbols are co-opted and become associated with infamous adherents, but that is not the totality of that symbols meaning

Keep that in mind when future fascists you do approve of begin wrapping themselves in the flag

Lol, "It's sheriff's badge! We used it because it's a sheriff's badge! Nevermind that it was first on a neo-Nazi message board, it's purely coincidence that it shares the same shape as the Star of David...honest."

The enthusiastic Trump supporters (I exempt the reluctant, pick-your-poison supporters, although I still respectfully disagree with them) are living proof of what the old proverb says: There are none so blind as those who will not see.

As scary as it's been to watch the pendulum swing towards thought police and political correctness, I'm just as frightened at the overcorrecting counterwswing in the direction of flagrant bigotry that some of the Branch Trumpidians seem bent on.

Those who will not see? I see two people in the general election, Trump and Clinton. Unless Clinton gets indicted and Biden steps in to save everything. All this hate for Trump won't change that, and one of them will be the next president.

Who does INGO want appointing Supreme Court justices? Trump, Clinton, or long-shot Biden?

If you are ever on an overseas flight, you can stomp your feet and demand fish until you are blue in the face. If the choices for dinner are beef or chicken, you're gonna go hungry.
