    Noticed something today while watching the marathon. Anyone think there is a relation between the red "A" stamp the kid put on Rick's hand at the party and the red "A" painted on the church by Gareth? I haven't gotten that far into the comics to know if the red "A" is significant or not.

    No. I think the red "A" was more of a reference to The Scarlet Letter and the fact that Rick was going to make a play for a married woman. Or just that he would wind up as "marked" as different from the rest of the townspeople.

    His son was killed by his wife. He confessed to Rick that he didn't have the guts to put a bullet in her, so when his son faced her, he froze. She got him and Morgan finally had to do both in.

    It's what drove him over the edge for a long time.
