I do NOT see them sticking to the comics into the Negan arc. All Out War, sure, but Negan is just too evil a character to deal with in a TV show that's already suffused with Bad Things™©® happening left, right, and center. For one thing, while they can get away with a couple of S-bombs because it's on cable, Negan, to be believable, would have to be swearing up a storm in the grittier scenes. Even for basic cable, can't get away with that. If this were on Showtime or HBO, okay, but not AMC. Plus, you would have to be able to see Negan burn one guy's face off and bash in a beloved regular character's skull with Lucille, his barbed wire wrapped baseball bat. The Governor was evil on a basic-cable-friendly scale. Negan is a Governor taken to the nth exponent.

    Not gon' `appen.

Now, I can see them, in season 6-7, maybe, having an All Out War arc against a character similarly situated but of a distinctly less sadistic/insane/ruthless nature. Someone with actual military tactical planning capability. Maybe even someone whose vision for rebuilding the country anew a certain segment of viewers could get behind. Like a Socialist Dictator.

Haven't read the Comic series but sounds like they could add someone similar to NBC's "Revolution."

When are the crossbow strings going to break? He has gotten the good out of them by now I would think!

Actually the newer no-stretch strings last a very long time. I have had the same set on my Mathews Switchback for 4 years now and I hunt and shoot year-round. I've taken this set to South Africa, Colorado and Wyoming three times, plus all the spring turkeys and fall whitetail around here. Doesn't surprise me at all the strings would hold up for quite some time. And when they do start to give, they don't break, they just become inaccurate by allowing the bow limbs to de-tune. I can see a set lasting 10 years by necessity, but I'm sure he'd come upon a new rig before then.

First two seasons one cross bow. Starting after they went on the weapons run a new crossbow.

In the third season, he got his cross bow confiscated by the Governor's men, but took a crossbow from one of them during the break out.

I just figured out why I had a visceral reaction against Abraham when he appeared last week. He's played by Michael Cuditz, who played a sadistic polygamous militia separatist type named Francis Goehring (after that description, it had to be a Germanic name, right?) in an episode of Criminal Minds from 2007. The episode is entitled Identity because he was also a mastermind kidnap-rape-murderer with an apprentice and after he's killed early in the episode, his apprentice starts making himself over in his master's image.

I think this was the first time Cuditz passed my field of vision where his appearance stuck with me, so I'm not likely to like him. It doesn't help that Abraham and Goehring have basicly the same facial hair.

Cuditz is gonna hafta work to make me like his performance as Abraham.

    To All,

A few thoughts from tonight's show.

Rick totally unarmed! Really??? Stupid is as stupid does. I don't mean no gun, I mean no knife/axe/screwdriver/ANYTHING? He could have killed two (2) up there and then had a gun. Maybe saved someone in trouble downstairs.

I did like it that he opened the door for the soon to be zombie before leaving. That was clever! I did not think of that.

I like getting to see some insight into Michonne. She is not my favorite character but she is OK. I did think seeing her smile and laugh for the first time in, what... 2 or 3 seasons, was a bit weird/creepy/abnormal. It is nice though. A definite character arc.

I am betting we have not seen the last of the bubba gang that entered Ricks house.

I believe the UZI is an open bolt weapon. I don't think Rick would have killed poo if he pulled the trigger. I am not 100% though so correct me if I am off base or missed it being open.

Glen constantly reinforces himself as my favorite character. He is smart, loyal, quick on his feet, and an overall good person. Plus gutsy! He just got over a major viral infection, escaped a zombie infested hellhole, and swings on a guy two and a half times his size PLUS in better physical shape!

I also liked the fact that NO guns were pulled or even threatened during the fight. Some folks still seem to have a moral code that limits them and I like that. A fist fight was just that - a fist fight.

If they kill Glen I will have to consider ritual seppuku! OK, maybe not that bad but drinking until i worship at the porcelain diety! If they ever waste Glen I may waste fine scotch - single malt.

Tara needs a gun. The knife is fine as a backup but she should have a gun.

I also liked the fact that after Andrew gave a pretty good speech and Glen just walked away - EVERYONE followed Glen! That was neat! Tara feels guilty and Rosalita (?) seems to just admire the guy going to save his wife. Andrew follows his friend and Eugene has no real choice.

IF Eugene actually knows ANYTHING about how to save the world I will consider buying a round of good beer for anyone who believes he is legit. The little I have seen of him I would be surprised if he could tie his shoes well let alone be some great biochemist or NBC man. Brent Spinner did a fine job of a truly geeky scientist in "Independence Day" but he had been locked up for a looooonnnnngggggggg time underground.

Zombies in the corn. Nice, neat, even rows of corn several years after the apocalypse. Really??? Seems a bit too "neat" to me.

I am looking forward to Rick and Carl being reunited with Judith, along with Glen and Maggie. I am a bit concerned about what is waiting for everyone at the end of the tracks. It could be good or as ominous as the Governor...?

    Regards,

    Doug

I think in the comics, he was Abraham's science teacher. I might be mistaken, but I remember reading that somewhere.

Possible spoiler alert.. highlight to read:
I don't think he was Abrahams science teacher, but from what I've read that is all he really is.. a science teacher and a good liar. Just in it for himself.

Abraham, Rosita, and Eugene were all due right now. It's still about another 3-6 seasons before Negan.

While everyone's raggin' on mullet-boy, I will just throw out there, because there's zero percent chance of it being an actual spoiler. Whatever Eugene may or may not be, when the chips are down, in the comic, he manages to resurrect an old ammunition factory so the group can start manufacturing their own ammo. So, whatever gambit mullet-boy may or may not be running right now, don't look upon him too harshly.
