$2.600 and an unspecified amount of marijuana from what I read.

So the insinuation is "Dealer" and the reality may (I said "may") be "Going to the casino with cash, a little weed and a pint of Old Barton..."

I would think if he had it bagged up to sell and it was a large amount they would have specified...I don't know...Maybe some LEO's can chime in as to why they would have said "unspecified amount"...It seems to me if it would have been a lot and was bagged to sell they would be screaming that from the rooftops...

I don't know but this whole thing doesn't bode well for our neighbor city...I am with Kut on the dragging part...The tape was so funky at that point I really couldn't tell what was happening but it didn't SEEM as if he were dragging the officer....

The Media At It's Disgusting Worst

From the story linked in my post above this one:

Ray Tensing, the former University of Cincinnati police officer charged with murder in the death of motorist Samuel DuBose, wasn’t the only one who claimed the cop had been dragged by DuBose’s car.Fellow officer Phillip Kidd corroborated the story, according to video taken at the scene.
That has some legal experts predicting that Kidd could be charged with giving a false statement.

“I would expect that to be forthcoming,” said Philip Stinson, a Bowling Green State University criminologist who gathers data on officer arrests. “It was a false statement. The video evidence doesn’t support it. There seems to be the elements of a crime there.”

How more self-serving and manufactured could this interaction with a liberal university "criminologist" be? The media has no interest in reporting the news. Hasn't for decades. The narrative now is to create the news, shape it, to lead the sheep where they want them to go. The crap like I quoted above is doing as much to kill this country as any other single source.

Phillip Kidd body camera video from Samuel DuBose shooting

A 2nd officer's body cam video has been released. The video doesn't tell us much but the audio is very useful to Tensing's defense. Remember: this video/audio occurred about 30 seconds after the shooting. There was no time for Tensing, Kidd, or anyone else, to create a cover story.

I wonder why they started the video where they did and didn't show the minutes prior. The second officer was already on the scene shortly after Sam was pulled over I imagined and would have likely been looking in the direction of Sam and his car at the time of the shooting.

EDIT: In that video you hear the officer say, "He was dragging me" and you hear Phillip Kidd say, "Yeah, I saw that"

So why in the hell did they start his video as he was running towards the wrecked car and not when we was watching the actual incident?

Really seems like the media purposely is trying to race bait once again. First the on-air video is edited in a way that softens the engine noise when Sam took off, as evident from the raw / unedited footage later released that was 27 minutes long and then little stuff like releasing a second angle of the incident, but conveniently cutting out the important part? What gives?

EDIT2: How do these cameras work? Do the officers switch them on/off themselves? Does that explain why there was no footage from the second angle and only footage of him runnign towards the car after it crashed?

I'm down visiting my parents right now in Bright (Indiana/Ohio/Cincinnati border) and WLWT channel 5 keeps playing Tensing's body cam in slow-mo and at the time the shot was fired, both of Sam DuBose's hands were up in the air. Tensing's left hand was clenching DuBose's shirt while his right hand was holding his pistol. In slow-mo, you never see Tensing's hand get caught in the steering wheel. Also, it's not until after the shot is fired that the car goes speeding off. I'm guessing it was an involuntary muscle spasm by the then deceased Sam DuBose that caused his car to flee the scene.

Also what is with all the people wearing red in the background? Is that a gang thing? Sam was decked out in red. In the background after his car crashes you see a guy in red shirts, another with a red shirt. I assume it's gang stuff, yeah?

Might be a gang thing but I thought one was just a Cincinnati Reds shirt.

Overcharged. DoJ will be there soon (after found not guilty of murder) to find systemic problems and make the LEOs sit through countless hours of Power Point slides. That is if recent history is any indicator.

Anyone know how the actual city/area is doing since all of this? Are there any credible threats of riots or just all speculation so far?

No, the parents and family of Sam DuBose has asked repeatedly that everything be kept peaceful. So far there hasn't been any sight of violence. My sister works on the east side of Cincinnati and said everything seemed calm on her drive home from work yesterday evening.

Ohio wasn't messing around. The press conference was yesterday at 1pm where they decided to show the body cam video that's now on YouTube and go forward with an indictment. Just before noon, about 3 dozen Ohio State Police showed up at the county prosecutors office.

I remember posting something regarding memory of an event not so long ago.

To recap, when my finger was shot I remember running to lay my hand down in the grass to hold it still, make it feel better, and observe it. I didn't have time to take the gun from my goddaugther and my buddy Jack did so. HE remembers me taking the gun.

While I do remember telling him the first aid kit was in the trunk I recall him asking for it. I NEVER told him to get it. On the other hand he remembers me ordering him to get it.

We were three (3) feet apart. We were facing the same direction. We had the same view. We have no reason to lie. It was my stupidity that got me shot. And yet, we both remember small details in a very different manner.

Officer Tensley could have FELT being dragged, even though he wasn't. This could easily result in a frame of mind that he honestly believes he was being dragged. If this is true then he is not lying. I don't like focusing on what he said and then judging his entire character from it based on its accuracy.

I also remember watching the bodycam shooting of a young man who ran from police at a church(posted here on INGO). The guy pulled his gun while running and the police officer shot him. He died in a ditch at the side of the road. At the end of the bodycam video the officer is explaining to his superior what happened. I remember that he also got some details wrong. He wasn't lying, but it was easy for me to dispassionately sit behind my computer and watch the events unfold and easily see where his statement conflicted in parts with the video. Overall, he got the broad brushes down. Again, it was the heat of the moment and he wasn't trying to cover anything up or lie. He was just misremembering some details in his telling of the event.

I have learned that memory is fallible. If Officer Tensley honestly believed his life was in danger that would possibly create justification for using lethal force in self defense. I don't know. I do believe training and experience could well play a factor in all of this.

    Regards,

    Doug
